I am done bashing Carson Coffman

Does anyone know if Old Balls v1.0 was recruiting Coffman in high school. I'd think that he at least was out on some recruiting visits before SS took over.

CC was recruited by us, Iowa State, uk, moo, and North Texas; the only other school he was offered by was North Texas. Speaks volumes.

In Manhattan Saturday, the Kansas State football team is one week into their pre-season. With one very big question still looming, who's going be the 'cats quarterback?

Still no word, but with this week's departure of Allan Evridge, the team was down to just two scholarship quarterbacks in the form of Dylan Meier and Josh Freeman. So what did head coach Ron Prince do?

He called up Carson Coffman.

Coffman, a true freshman, had been grey-shirted until yesterday, when the team called him to "active duty.”

A product of Raymore-Peculiar High School in Missouri, Coffman will add some much needed depth to the K-State quarterback stable.

However, Coffman is currently nursing a shoulder injury .When the young quarterback returns to full strength; coach Prince expects big things from the young signal caller.

"He's a very accurate quarterback. We had a quarterback at Virginia who's playing in the NFL who was very similar, lust a very accurate quarterback, Matt Schaub. I'm not ready to put Carson in Canton just yet, but he was that kind of player on tape and that really excited me. I thought it would be preferable to have a year perhaps, with the grey-shirt between him and the rest of the pack. But to be honest, I'm glad that he can come in here and be apart of it," said Head Coach Ron Prince.
