Kansas-duh
Missouri-several Royals games and now I live within walking distance of it.
Colorado, I guess--lots of vacations ended up going there.
Maybe Texas next?  I don't know Only been there briefly on one vacation plus several bowl games.
After that its probably a toss up between Nebraska, Wyoming, and Oklahoma, but either way its a pretty insignificant amount of time.  Probably spent more time in Germany than any of these and that was 12 days.

Yeah, I also have almost the same list, except for 2-5.

1) Kansas:  Born and raised.  Kansan through college.  Johnny Kaw and I are still close, personal friends.  (That one night we split a case of beer and ended up punching each other didn't break the bond, in the end it brought us closer together, really.)
2) New York:  Lived in NYC since college.  Probably a lifer at this point.
3) EDIT: Based on FFF's post below, I was reminded I lived in Washington for a year when I was 3 years old.  I just don't remember it that well for some reason.  Glad to add this, since I was stretching to get to five states -- now I'm feeling solid on my list.
4) California:  Family originally from Cali., and my siblings live there now.  Spent many, many vacations out there.  Yeah, when I was in middle school I was wicked pissed at my parents for moving to Kansas.
5) EDIT AGAIN to add D.C.  I forgot I had a summer internship there for a couple months.  Jesus, my originial list was just awful.   :-[
6) Colorado:  Family vacations that weren't to California were spent in Colorado.  Since then, I've spent a lot of time there visiting friends and skiing.  I really can't say enough positive about the Sunshine State.

Hey, RD - Don't give up on that dream of being a beach bum, k?

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

1.  Illinois - spent a total 9 years there, pre-k through 1st grade, then 7th grade through all of high school.  Peoria area.
2.  Missouri - spent 5 years in STL going to college and some grad school.
3.  Kansas - more grad school at KSU.
4.  Iowa - born and lived in quad cities til i was 4 or something like that.
5.  Minnesota/South Dakota - toss up, lots of family in each state, rents now retired and live in northern MN.

*Extra bonus - lived 4 years in England (their equivalent of 3rd through 6th grade), so it would fit up in there with KS/IA but it ain't exactly a state.

In a particular order:

1. Kansas - Born here and lived here my whole life
2. Colorado - I've had family in and out of the state my whole life
3. Missouri - Used to go to a Royals game every summer during the "Good 'Ole Days"
4. Arkansas - We vacationed there when I was a kid but I barely remember it
5. Nebraska - Went to a KSU vs. Nebraska football game there
6. Texas - Went to a Cotton Bowl there
7. Oklahoma - Passed through there on the way to the Cotton Bowl

Sorry about that. I wrote my response quickly this morning without reading the question.
