Let's have one of those GPC threads where we lie about expensive brands of scotch that we don't really drink.
I liked the recent thread about beer and 50% of them selected Tallgrass wheat, which really sucks, but they chose it because it was made in Manhattan.

+1

Tallgrass is awful.

guys,

i need to get some new shoes. any advice here?

thanks,
daris

Whatever you do, unlace them when you get home and trick them out with some style from the following page:

http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm

or

 :ksu: < but with shoelaces

wow. that site is crazy. my shoe "tounges" always start to migrate to the outside of my foot/leg after a week or two of wearing. i'm wondering if it has to do with the way i lace them (crisscross lacing). i wonder what "corrugates shoe" means? does anyone know what i'm talking about/have this problem also? could it be unrelated to lacing and have to do with the way the top of my foot is shaped?
Use the under/over lacing.  Trust me it will change everything...

Sure. Frank needs to bust out a purple k-state one in PR.  Maybe we should send him one along with an official invite into the G-Club?

My bad.

You know what wasn't 'awful' even though I thought it was going to be awful?  Transformers.

Maybe I filtered out all non-Megan Fox scenes in my head, but it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be.

Michael Bay still sucks though.

Thanks bro, I was just getting ready to start a "Favorite Favorite Food Thread".  I can practically taste the Totino's Pizza.

So anyway I'm not a smoker, but if I was wanting to quit, could I actually smoke the nicotine patches or are those really just for external use?  TIA

No, you can't smoke the patches.  But they do have these new nicotine sticks where you light the end and then smoke it to get your fix.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Rounded toe is better than square toe, according to GQ.  Personally, I always have to have a pair of cap toe shoes in my rotation.  (You need a rotation because your dress shoes will last longer if you don't wear them 2 days in a row).  Obviously, you need a leather sole if you want to be taken seriously, or a sole that looks like leather from the side.  You don't need to spend more than $200, to get good shoes, and you can find very good ones for $70 at discount places.

Man, I wore a pair of those shoes until they wore out just last year.  Although I did often defensively point out that I actually bought them to play soccer, so they're "legit."

Tier 1: Stuff that you would wear to funerals, weddings that kind of dressy.

Tier 2: Night out. More of a "dressy casual"

Tier 3: Casual. Wear them wherever.

Broke both of my wrists simultaneously when I was in 4th grade. Someone yelled to me when I was riding my bike, turned my head to look, and apparently turned my bike right into the curb, launching me over the handlebars. I crossed my arms in front of my face to protect it, and the impact broke both of my wrists. Then had to ride home about 2 blocks with my hands draped over the handlebars. My mom didn't believe me when I said I thought they were broken, and gave me a Tylenol and a glass of water (which I couldn't hold). She took me to the doctor the next day when I couldn't put on my socks. Sucked.

Broke my ankle in 03, fell down the stairs and landed on it funny. I remember watching 35-7 with my ankle on a bag of ice to get the swelling down so I could get a cast put on it. Had to get up at like 5:30 every morning so my mom could drive me to school before she had to leave for work for like a month. Keep in mind it was winter, and the school didn't open the doors til like 7:00-7:30.

Another non-food topic: Any of you guys ever have a beard for a few months and then shave it off?  Every time I look in the mirror now, my face looks funny.  Also, the rules of this thread would seem to allow you to post your thoughts on beards generally -- they are very popular with the hipsters where I live.

I have to shave everyday for work, but probably couldn't grow a good one anyway.

I had a beard for about a month my wife said I looked homeless because I had more white hairs than brown.  When it finally was filled in and she thought it looked good it was too itchy so I shaved it off.

Yeah, it takes 2 weeks at least to fill in and look at all decent.  I never had a big problem with itchiness.
