Still trying to figure out how I had such a cognitive disconnect with Krause, when 4 or 5 years ago I went to a whole new level of hate from the Powertards on the Wabash when I was discussing the clusterf_ck that had become the Colbert Hills financing, and how Krause was right there in the middle of all of that.  No wonder the KSU Foundation wanted the guy out of athletics.

Very dumb on my part . . . .  :banghead: :banghead:

I didn't see the post over there but would have agreed with you. He was smack in the middle of that mess.

why administrative leave?  why not just fire them?  don't understand that.

Its how things are done in a properly run corporation. :AA:

don't understand why they don't just fire them and start officially looking for replacements.  you don't put your top 2 athletic department officials on admin leave and then retain them.   maybe they have buyouts too?

probably more out of respect for Epps...he's been there a very long time and I heard this morning that they are saying that he is not speculated as being involved in the private agreement....and I really do believe that. Administrative leave...a more than gentle nudge saying...it's time to move on. I'd heard he was about to retire anyway.

ADJC doesn't want those two in there flying "air cover" for the previous regime.

Jim Epps was probably taking a nap when the whole "secret deal" was going down.

Currie sent them home so he and the workers could talk about Epps'/Cavello's future with the organization without having to close doors or whisper.

Trouble? How is this anything but great news?

Because, dumbass, there is a lawsuit pending about the "secret" deal, which, evidently, wasn't so fracking secret.  Gawd you farmers are slow.

KSU Athletic Department =

Good luck.  You idiots, and I mean that literally, should just quit.   :flush:

Everyone knew our Ath Dept was completely incompetent. Why the frack does it matter if there is even more evidence of this? It's great news that house is getting cleaned. You're a fracking retard for not being able to comprehend this.

Again, dumbass, your President was, once again, in the media crying (literally) about his best buddy, Krause, negotiating a secret deal which evidently wasn't very secret.  Try not to be so "kstate" will you.  Your AD is completely inept.  You are embarrassing the state of Kansas, let alone the Big 12.  Try not to contibute to the douchebaggery, will you?  God you're dull.

Who gives a crap how secret it was? We knew our entire administration was garbage, so how is the fact that we now have a resemblance of a legit administration a bad thing?

It's obvious you're struggling here, yet I'm the dumbass. lol.

LOL . . . according to Tardville in 2001 some at ku were considering dropping football (don't believe that for a minute).

Will their be an exit ceremony for Bob "Big Racist" Hemmenway at ku??   The King of Affirmative Action lawsuits.

I'll save the little fellow the trouble of copying and pasting this from his home page:

I'm going to speculate that there was a conversation that went something like this:

John Currie to Prince agent: "What would it take to settle this lawsuit? You know it was against rules to negotiate this rogue contract with ONLY our former idiot AD, Bob Krause, and not go through the proper channels."

Prince agent: "John, why don't you run that last part by Epps and Cavello and get back with me. I'll wait by the phone .... "

How eactly does Epps and Cavello knowing about the "secret" deal help Prince and his agent in the least?  Krause clearly had more authority to execute the deal than either of those two, and the agent/attorney still has the same ethical issues until he can show that KSU's legal counsel was involved in the negotiation.

BTW, if Prince's agent is speaking directly to Currie as your screenplay suggests, the agent has even more ethics problems.

    Fear the Brick
krause's subordinates knowing about a deal that required authorization above krause (and his subordinates) doesn't make the secret deal any less secret from the people (who could authorize the transaction) that were (allegedly) kept in the dark about this.   it's not like prince's agent can say "see, even more people that had no authority to make this deal were party to this deal so it wasn't secret"...if anything it builds a case for collusion.

Bob Cavello is a real piece of work.  frack that guy.  Billy Zabka has a very unEMAW story about him.  Don't recall all the specifics but I'm sure he'd love to share now that ADJC is cleaning house :peek:

LOL, haven't thought about that story in a few years. Fracking Bob Cavello - was very good at covering his own ass. Until now I guess.

Yup. kurt McGuffin should get his job.

or not.  we need new "non contaminated by the old regime" blood.  mcguffin has been sucking the teets of the AD for years and has the same BS instilled in him as the guys who taught him the game.  no thanks.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Alright, typed this whole fracking thing once and then accidently closed the window so had to type it again.. When I first heard this story (03-04 timeframe) I dismissed it immediately because of how far-fetched and soap opera-esque it was. Now, in light of the clusterfrack that is our athletic department it suddenly seems entirely possible.

What I was told was that Cavello was caught doing something he wasn’t supposed to do and was about to get fired. I don’t recall the exact details but I remember it had something to do with merchandise from the cat’s closet. I remember thinking that it really wasn’t that big of a deal – probably enough to get you fired but probably too petty for them to take to the law.

Anyway, the story goes that Timmy tried to get rid of him but Cavello had an ace in the hole. Apparently he had some embarrassing information on the wbb team and threatened to leak it if he got the axe. Again, I didn’t think it was that earth-shattering but definitely wouldn’t have looked good in the public eye – it involved a “relationship”   :fatty: between an asst. coach and a player.

I have no idea how much or if any of this is true but it did come from a good source within the wbb program so take it fwiw. Haven’t thought about it in a good while until I saw the news yesterday.

So it's possible that Timid Timmy was afraid to fire a guy because that guy might tell people that some women involved in the womens basketball program were gay??

Pfft . . . that's funny.

hey man I agree with you, TW should've done something about it.  The fact that it was a coach is the only reason I can see him NOT doing something about it.
