K-State will have one of the better D-Line's in the league next year . . . but if somebody gets hurt, that's blown to hell, because there is no depth.
I know this is a KSU board, and you are a KSU fan, but let's be honest also, KSU will NOT have one of the better D-Line's in the Big 12 this year. There are 2 newcomers to a defense that ranked 117th in the nation last year. Let's be realistic here.
KSU will probably be in the upper half of the conference. Jeffrey Fitzgerald and Brandon Harold are two legitimate NFL prospects. Harold, eventually, will be a first day draft pick. As of now, he'll be good enough to be All-Conference if healthy.
Eric Childs, while undersized, is a pretty good pass rusher. He always has been. Considering that he'll be playing opposite Brandon Harold and two legitimate defensive tackles in Fitzgerald and Calvin, he'll be serviceable.
Calvin is a bit of a wildcard, but if he continues to work hard in the summer conditioning program, he can be disruptive. He's every bit of 6'4" 300+, and he was a highly sought after JUCO DT a year ago. He'll be decent.
I don't think KSU will have a top four defensive line, but they should be in the upper half if they remain healthy.
