I think my grandpa killed somebody once, but he never liked to talk about Kent State.

It's pretty awesome how the EMAW's just flip a switch and it's back to 2002 again... K-State football gets two guys who would have been at K-State all along if it weren't for Prince, and all of a sudden K-State football is back.

What's even funnier is watching Tardville try and convince itself that there's no way humanly possible K-State could ever become halfway decent to pretty good again in football.

No one's saying K-State won't improve under Snyder.  It's just hilarious watching the EMAW's act like it's back to 2002 just because a couple guys transferred to be closer to home.

Why do you always take everything said here at "face value"??   You've just got way too much tardville in you Ben, you disappoint me.

This is the same place that blamed all of Prince's problems on Snyder.

Hmmm.  I've been reading this entire thread carefully, and not once have I sensed that anyone here thinks its' back to 2002 level of dominance.  I think we're all excited that Snyder at least doesn't seem to be missing a step where recruiting is concerned.  No one is saying we beat ku this year, but it is clear that the shift in power in the college football in our state is temporary, that ku's own tres-cade of dominance is short-lived where KSU is concerened.

Also, we're all pretty ecstatic that Snyder do what Snyder do, and the Prince era feels like a bad dream.  Like bolting upright in your bed screaming, "Holy crap, I just dreamed I was having sex with Rosie O'Donnell!"  That kind of thing.

Looks like we are finally getting back in the race for the top players in the state of Kansas. It's been about a five year hiatus, but since LSnyder got here, definitely a big change.

With the transfers of Harper & Smith to MHK, we now have three of the top six players from the top ten of Kansas in '08 (including Dold).

In this class we already have two of the top seven. (D. Robinson & Walker just solidified his commitment to us!!! Step off NU!!)

The first step in getting back to the DOD is closing the border to out of state schools and locking up the top talent in the state. Good start for the new staff. :ksu: :AA:

You DO know that Harper has not said he is transfering to KSU right?????He HAS said that KSU, Kansas & Okie St. are also being thought about. Before you count Harper as a transfer, you need to remember the past.

K-State's problems haven't been with the skill position players.  You just had a QB taken #17 overall in the NFL Draft and a WR selected early 2nd round in '08.  K-State's struggles have been on the offensive and defensive lines.  That's why I don't see K-State really improving that much until 2-3 years down the road, after some of those o-line/d-line recruits have had a couple years to develop under Snyder.

K-State will have one of the better D-Line's in the league next year . . . but if somebody gets hurt, that's blown to hell, because there is no depth.

lol. freeman sucked, and our offense was pretty good in 2007.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I know this is a KSU board, and you are a KSU fan, but let's be honest also, KSU will NOT have one of the better D-Line's in the Big 12 this year. There are 2 newcomers to a defense that ranked 117th in the nation last year. Let's be realistic here.

Grissom is a Jayhawk...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/onthetrail   & I think Hedgepeth goes to Colorado State or the Badgers.

This is the truth.  The starting four along the defensive line is the best position group we have on the entire team.

Granted, that's not really a high compliment given the circumstances, but the consensus is that the defensive line is the only position group on par with the better teams in the conference.

Mark my words, if he stays healthy, Harold will be on the first or second team all-conference.  He's an absolute beast.

it all starts w/the d-line. look at texass's d-line last year. absolutely embarrassed reesing. we could see similar from ksu in 2009.

KSU will probably be in the upper half of the conference.  Jeffrey Fitzgerald and Brandon Harold are two legitimate NFL prospects.  Harold, eventually, will be a first day draft pick.  As of now, he'll be good enough to be All-Conference if healthy.

Eric Childs, while undersized, is a pretty good pass rusher.  He always has been.  Considering that he'll be playing opposite Brandon Harold and two legitimate defensive tackles in Fitzgerald and Calvin, he'll be serviceable.

Calvin is a bit of a wildcard, but if he continues to work hard in the summer conditioning program, he can be disruptive.  He's every bit of 6'4" 300+, and he was a highly sought after JUCO DT a year ago.  He'll be decent.

I don't think KSU will have a top four defensive line, but they should be in the upper half if they remain healthy.
