Why can't we keep the lead off guy off the bases to start an inning? I can only think of one inning that we retired the lead off man.

Yes but we tried to bunt twice & failed both times (pop out & strike out), & bad base running when Rob Vaughn was thrown out at 2nd when the SS caught a line drive (as a base runner you take a step back to the bag & see if the ball goes through).
