    Hey, basketball!!!
but how about if this Snyder experiment just totally fails? Like he goes 5-7 this season then four or five wins for the next couple of years. Do we treat him like Prince and fire him? Or because he is Bill Snyder we give him the whole five year contract to try and work some of  his magic?

I mean, I don't want to be labeled a racist if we go worse then Prince's 17-20 record in the next three seasons and we keep him. :ohno:

If he wins 4-5 games for the next 3 seasons, with no signs of improvement, I would hope he would step down on his own.  I mean the guy has more emaw in him than anybody.

I just want him to lay the ground work for our next coaching search. If he can develop decent recruiting and put a respectable team together, I'll be happy. If there are no signs of any positive news after 3 years, he needs to rebuild his staff or fake his death.

I really dont think we need to worry about wins and losses in the first year or so. Like many other poster's on this board I wil be more than happy with positive signs of improvement like solid defense and overall smart play. I know that snyder has already changed the way the players view themselves and eachother. I know this because I one of my roomates is on the team, and he plays linebacker and he definitely sees improvment. I see no reason that this team doesn't win at least 5 if not 6 games next year.  :ksu:

As long as the defense learns how to tackle next season I'll be happy.  Nothing was more embarrassing than watching Lousiana Rajun gouge our defense for like 300+ yards rushing.

After next season if it doesn't work there's alway...It's Patterson!

Hey, he's going to be 73...he may not even have to fake it....especially if he keeps up with those 15 hour days.  OR, his staff [totally fed up with 15 hour days] could put together a plan for "accidental" death.

This is all anyone should really expect over the next 3 years.

Do you think we will get blown out like the end of the '07 season and almost all of last season? Like teams that aren't even that good (FSU in '07 & ku in '08) completely demolish us?

Because I can't put up with the game being over at halftime anymore. I at least want to be competitive. :frown:

Is that to much to ask? :-[

any really good teams we play will most likely pull away before or right after the half.  i am interested to see how this team does with the new and hopefully improved coaching.  i also meant to say, if things go right and fall into place, maybe we win 6 and are barely bowl eligible.

but i think competitive is the important word.  i think after the louisville game we all knew what was really coming the rest of the way.  i hoped and hoped game after game that we'd show some improvement and start showing some competitiveness, but i was slapped with the cold reality that it wasn't going to happen.

i think competitive will be a decent word to describe what we see this year.

How long did it take for OB'z to turn us into a truly competitive team the first go round?  And, that was with All Star assistants and very low expectations/pressure.  Just getting us back to being 'competitive' again would be huge IMO.  And, by competitive, I mean no more blowouts.

Looking at the roster, there's about a 97% chance that he actually does.

WTF?  Go over to the hoops board and look at all of the optimism.  Blind optimism is retarded.  Well placed optimism and well place pessimism is for intellectual elites like myself and my bros.  Got to get to English class before morning bell.  See you later.

I will say this; I do think there are fundamental things that Prince let go that Snyder will improve drastically.  Its obvious Prince tried an approach that was much looser, had some serious issues with his schemes, and failed to recruit at a high level.  That's just a horrible combination; perhaps if he had been able to recruit at a high, high level he might have had more success, but that simply wasn't the case.  And that set back the program a ton, especially for the type of program we have to be, and that must be fixed first.

Now, I think the ultimate key to Snyder's success will be the recruiting part, but I do trust that he will at least fix the other 2 major deficiencies that Prince had.  Granted, Snyder has pretty much prove in today's college football (his final 2 seasons) that just those 2 things won't carry enough weight if you don't recruit.  So we will see.

And if this doesn't work my hope is this; 1st that Snyder will at least leave a solid enough foundation that will allow for a great chance for a new competent coach to succeed.  I mean this is certainly positive spin; look at what Prince was able to achieve with what Snyder left him fairly quickly.  And also look how quickly things can slip if some of the major things Snyder emphasizes aren't maintained at a school like K-State, especially if you don't recruit.

2nd Snyder's replacement will be a huge test for the new president and whoever we hire as AD.  Whatever he does, Snyder probalby won't be here past 6-7 years at the most.  So whatever the case, we'll have at least that to look forward to, if you can look forward to such things.

I don't even want to watch games next year unless we're good late in the season.

I've gone from angry about snyder to completely apathetic about the entire program.

lol at thinking 5 or 6 wins is optimistic.  if snyder can't win 5 or 6 games next year it'll be a spectacular failure.
