Allergies would itch as well.  Could be what they call hotspots, but as implied those usually occur during hot weather.  Maybe you just have one tough SOD and they aren't letting on that it itches.   Though I am not sure that mange necessarily comes with an overactive itch.  Vet, yes indeed.

Yeah, made an appoint for her later this week.

wow what a crapty vet if you can't take it in there right away
crappy vets aren't busy, a crappy vet would have room for him today.  it's not an emergency, no need to treat it like one.  if i had to get my pet in (without an emergency) it would take a week at least.  as it is I have to make his haircuts at least 2 weeks in advance.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

walk in with your dog (or cat) and they won't say get lost see you in a week. if so they are not doing business right, they will get you in and suck your money out of you.

they're busy, it's not an emergent situation, i wouldn't walk my dog/cat into a vet until i knew the doctor had the time to see him.

My dad is a vet. Probably has to be why the "cas" family is so filthy rich.

cas family just moved up a notch in my book.

Because they're rich

I thought he was kind of saying that tongue in cheek?  Do veteranarians make enough money to be considered "filthy rich?"

I always just thought of vets as people that performed surgeries on cats and dogs.  Livestock vets is a whole different animal (no pun intended).

well now, he said "rich" and you've gone and said "filthy rich".

i would say that a decent amount of vets make enough money to be "rich" but only a few probably make enough to be "filthy rich". doubt any of them make enough to be "dirty rotten stinken filthy rich". just a guess here though. the only vets i know are cass' dad and some skank a buddy of mine nailed a few months ago. hth.

The filthy rich vets are the ones who own there own clinic or are specialists.  A vet out of school and make 30,000 to 60,000 per year if working for a clinic, I have a cousin in Arizona strated at $60,000 but cost of living down there sucks from what they are telling me.

Papa cas owns his own clinic, so yeah. Also the tri-county area (Scott, Wichita, Lane) have the most cattle in Kansas, by far.

so got her in and she was diagnosed with seasonal something alapecia.  Basically, it will go away on its own.  Atleast nothing is really wrong with her.

You need to rename your dog Stan Sitwell.

Nice.  Now all she needs is an ice cream cone and maybe a little beef jerky to lift her spirits.

Funny story:  Never even met a vet student at KSU.  I mean, I prolly did...but I wasn't aware that they were vet students.  I bet they are real clique'y.

You've met one before.  Post-grad anyway.  And they are clique'y.  They are mostly off of the main campus and are way too cool for the regular population.

The fact that they spent about $100,000 more on a house that is smaller and craptier than what I live in here in Kansas I would say that sucks.  Or they are not very good house shoppers

Yeah, I meant while in school, should have clarified.  I've met tons of vets in my lifetime.

I would guess that the best part of being a vet is getting to go on some luxurious trips and not having to pay for them. Like for continuing education. You gotta pay for the class, but hotel and stuff= free.

True.  Also meals paid for by drug reps can be pretty nice.  We've been to two steakhouses this year on someone else's dime and all we had to do was listen to some pitch about different drugs for heartworm prevention.

This is a common misconception.  Most vets work on livestock not pets.  The ones that care for pets don't make all that much.  You can make a lot working on livestock.  The ones working on pets normally do it because they love animals rather then for the money.

a canadian friend on mind (not a vet) had to turn down trips to vegas and chicago in may from drug rep type people. the meals aren't really worth it in his opinion. the guy doesn't really like talking to people all that much though so who knows.
