My Golden is developing spots where she is losing both her top and undercoats, however she doesn't appear to be bothered by them.  She's not itching or biting at it, but it continues to get bigger.  Is this some sort of parasite or bacterial infection?  Do I need to take her in or will it probably clear up on it's own?

TIA for the help.

Mange?
I know if it was my pet I wouldn't hesitate to have him at his vet's office.  Hopefully someone here graduated from our Vet School (but I doubt it considering who it is that posts here).

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Thats what I thought, however she isn't biting or scratching, and that seems to be a requirement for mange from what I have read.  I have also read it could be allergies, and that benedryl may be an option.  You guys have a top 5 vet school, so I figured this is the place to go.

Funny story:  Never even met a vet student at KSU.  I mean, I prolly did...but I wasn't aware that they were vet students.  I bet they are real clique'y.

I'm sure they stay clear of people that smell good, like you and Mrs. Dave...

:D :D :D :D
I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

Another funny story:  When I first read the subject I thought it said "vegetarians."  Then I read the post and was all like "wtf does this have to do with vegetarians?"  Then reread the subject and felt embarrassed.

    The very best.
parking is free @ the vet center
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

yeah, i know. pretty unbelievable stuff huh? but i talked w/ a person who witnessed the night up until about 1:45 am and they felt that it was more than likely. very, very, attractive girl too. very.

best part of the story is that i was out of town and he had a key to my place with the knowledge that he could stay there the whole time and whatnot but in the midst of everything kind of forgot and took her to his parents house.

edit to add that i don't know what's wrong with your dog. sorry.

Allergies would itch as well.  Could be what they call hotspots, but as implied those usually occur during hot weather.  Maybe you just have one tough SOD and they aren't letting on that it itches.   Though I am not sure that mange necessarily comes with an overactive itch.  Vet, yes indeed.

I can't get her in on my schedule until later in the week.  I'd take her in sooner if it looked like it was bothering her, but she's just as annoying with the tennis ball as ever.  Nothing other than the fur falling out is noticeable.
