Chris Harper was too. But CH decommited because of RP and JF. At the end of the day a verbal doesn't mean a whole lot. It looks good though.

Naw, the guys that Butler played for are long gone from the NW program.  Schartz was actually the coach at West (NW's biggest rival at that time) during Butler's time at NW.  Schartz is one of those throw back type coaches, he expects you to be a man of your word.

Then you went to NW in the last ten years.  West was always our natural rival, because:   1) When NW first opened, it split the West district into 2, creating the new NW district.  Thus, many kids were now playing against kids they had played along side the season before.  2)  During the 90's, NW and W won or shared basically every football title of the decade.  Carroll was nothing more than a blip on the radar, as they were 5A, and sucked at football.  Really sucked.  Ignorance is not an excuse.

I am as optomistic as the next EMAW, but I am also realistic. When Harper decommitted, it felt like a kick to the nuts. I want to be excited for this guy and gitty like a school girl - but I am cautiously optomistic.

FWIW, it is FCKING awesome that we beat out all those other schools for this guy.

It's a good pick up. But at this point it honestly doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot. This guy does look like a decent player though.
