the smores fondu desert masterpiece at the Melting Pot is kickass.  if you've never been to that place it's pretty kool, except for the fact that you pay a crap ton of money to cook your own food and it takes like 2+ hours to eat all four courses.

received a hefty gift card to that place, plus smores are &@#%ing awesome so it made everything taste phenomenal (might make some smores in the fireplace tonight as a matter of fact).  but i guess eating lots of chocolate at a seafood place is uber-manly so i'll take your word for it.

FWIW, my grandma made bread pudding the other day and it wasn't bad. I don't think I'd ever choose it as a dessert, but it was ok as a snack type of thing. The bottom part of it sucked, though. Too much whiskey in the whiskey sauce, methinks. I don't know why people would consume whiskey without the intention of getting drunk.

Anything with dark chocolate or the word "fudge" in it is pretty much awesome, imo. S'mores are also amazing, but that could be because you have to be camping to eat them.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

The melting pot is for tourists from Ames who don't know where else to go and want to tell fondue stories to neighbors when they get back from their weekend in the big city.

iirc the Omaha Melting Pot is the prefered destination for Ames tourists.  I think the KC location of for Lawrence tourists.
