Honestly I think we were in the Baylor game right up to the point Josh Freeman took his first snap. It was over at that point we had no chance to win with him and our players knew it. You can't throw 3 interceptions in a half and beat anyone.
I agree. We were moving the ball with ease up to that point, and Dylan Meier has proven himself to be a very effective QB time and time again.
IMO, Meier is the best QB for the type of defense we have. He really won't make mistakes (or atleast as many as Freeman) and that'll always "keep us in the game". Freeman threw as many picks in 2 quarters as Meier did in 5 games. I don't see Freeman as the "solution" to our problems; so what if he throws for 250 if he turns the ball over? So if Freeman isn't the solution, then the only reason to make the change is because the season is being conceded and we're getting ready for next year.
I see your point...but what good is having "only" 1 or 2 costly INT's if you can't put the ball in the end zone.
Freeman = playing to win
Meier = playing to not lose
Freeman had
I agree that Meier = playing not to lose, I'm just saying that with this defense, that might be the way to go if you want to win a few more games this year.
Freeman = playing to win....next season
Which is fine by me, we don't have an offensive line so really, it won't really matter who we throw back there. Build for next year and hope that our defensive players don't get injured or they'll be kicked off the team.
