That is all I can really think of right now.  With all the crap surrounding the football program, we really have nowhere to go but up.

Here's to the Cats. Here's to a win.

Go State.

    The very best.
I'll be there.

39 straight home games in attendence for me. (dating back to.....???)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Oh, it can get a lot worse.

If you really look at it without being a drama queen, our only real problem is our lack of offense.

Could it really get Duke-ish?  I doubt it.  IMO, this year, it couldn't get any worse.  I don't expect to win another game. Actually, I don't even expect to really be in any games.

you're alone.

D is too good.
They will keep us close in the 1st and 2nd quarter, but not so much in the 3rd and 4th.

Saul, I don't think we were ever in the Baylor game. Once it was 14-3...we pretty much knew it was over.

I'm banking on the fact that I really think this D is top 30/25...and the Offense will have a few good games.

Disagree.
We put a pretty impressive drive together in the 1st half which resulted in Thomas Clayton fumbling near the goal line. I knew we would lose then.  That is just too demoralizing, and it seems that this team does not respond well to that.

Maybe i'm over reacting, but I think it will be a reach for this team to win another game, let alone 3.

The thing is, we still had two turnovers inside the ten after it was 17-3.  If you keep games close, you are never out of it.  A pick six or a punt return can change a game like that pretty quickly.

By the time we face them, I think they'll have their act together, and we play in Boulder which hasn't been a place we've had any success.  Maybe it'll be a battle to see who goes winless in the conference.

I don't expect to win another game.  We'll have a turnover machine for a QB (not an indictment of his talent, rather just the reality of playing behind the worst offensive line this side of pop warner football and being a freshman).  And I don't think the defense will be able to hold up all game, although they should keep it close through 3 quarters.

Why wouldn't KSU improve, too?

I think CU is better than us right now.  I thought they looked more impressive their past two games than we have.  I don't think we'll see Freeman's progress or improvement until next season.  Pretty much, the Baylor game has me soured.

Only difference between us and cu is they aren't turning it over and our D is better.

CU typically seems to have superior atheletes that like to step it up a notch when they play us (as opposed to how they typically play in their non-conference games).  I agree with zackcatman that they've played better in the past two weeks.  They played UGA at UGA better than we played Louisville at home.  And they played better against MU than we played against Baylor.  Jackson looks like a pretty effective playmaker.  Meier looked pretty awful.  Just how many points can our offense score, anyway?  Can the defense pitch a shutout?  They're pretty good, but not nearly that good.

a lot of positivity from rusty in this thread and its messing with my head.

oh and fatty, if you really have been to 39 straight, that would make the louisiana tech game in 2001 your first home game (NOT counting the bca classic at arrowhead in 2003).

CU is better than us.  They've got a better group of players and seem to be playing better each week.  And for the first time ever I think our program rates higher on the drama scale.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

0-0 and we fumble on Baylor's 10.

7-3 at halftime and we're playing like dookie..

14-3 and Freeman throws a perfect pass. Had we not fumbled..it's a 4 point game with plenty of time left...

So, yes, we were in it until Figurs fumbled...then it was over. I shut off the radio after that.

Honestly I think we were in the Baylor game right up to the point Josh Freeman took his first snap.  It was over at that point we had no chance to win with him and our players knew it.  You can't throw 3 interceptions in a half and beat anyone.

I agree.  We were moving the ball with ease up to that point, and Dylan Meier has proven himself to be a very effective QB time and time again.

IMO, Meier is the best QB for the type of defense we have.  He really won't make mistakes (or atleast as many as Freeman) and that'll always "keep us in the game".  Freeman threw as many picks in 2 quarters as Meier did in 5 games.  I don't see Freeman as the "solution" to our problems; so what if he throws for 250 if he turns the ball over?  So if Freeman isn't the solution, then the only reason to make the change is because the season is being conceded and we're getting ready for next year.

I see your point...but what good is having "only" 1 or 2 costly INT's if you can't put the ball in the end zone.

Freeman = playing to win
Meier = playing to not lose

Freeman had
I agree that Meier = playing not to lose, I'm just saying that with this defense, that might be the way to go if you want to win a few more games this year.

Freeman = playing to win....next season

Which is fine by me, we don't have an offensive line so really, it won't really matter who we throw back there.  Build for next year and hope that our defensive players don't get injured or they'll be kicked off the team.

To me, our defense also allows us to play Freeman and cover up for his turnovers...they will hold a lot of teams to FG's rather than TD's if turnovers are deep in our territory.

I will take my chances with a 275 yard, 3 int, 2 TD performance vs. a 175 yard, 1 int, 0 TD performance.
