I'm with Rusty here. If we had any consistent running game, I'd agree with playing Meier, but we don't. I think the risk/reward on the scoreboard is more in our favor, both for this year and in the future with Freeman behind center.
Say what you will, but I think you've got to give Prince credit for sticking with his plan. It might've been easy to come in with a more "traditional" offense, with a power running game etc. and perhaps win more this year with Meier. But then you're going through the same growing pains next year when you impliment the new stuff. If he can get it to work, in the long run doing what he's doing this year will pay bigger dividends. The move of Freeman to #1 after the Baylor loss makes more sense under this plan as well IMO. We'll just have to wait and see if it works.
While I think there has probably been some surprises for Prince, some he handled better than others, I still think he's following his plan for the program and not just making stuff up as he goes. Granted, I think he's learning a ton and his inexperience is showing, but I think there is a plan and he's trying to stay with it as much as possible.
