K-State shakes up its depth chart
By HOWARD RICHMAN
The Kansas City Star
MANHATTAN, Kan. | Quarterback Josh Freeman isn’t the only key lineup shift at Kansas State.
True freshman running back Leon Patton is listed as making his first start Saturday at home against Oklahoma State, according to the updated depth chart released Tuesday. Patton has 13 carries for 57 yards.
Senior Thomas Clayton, who fumbled when K-State was deep in Baylor territory Saturday, was demoted to third team. Clayton is listed behind junior Terry Petrie.
Also, redshirt freshman Brock unruh is listed as the starter at right guard. Gerard Spexarth started against Baylor. He is not listed on the two-deep. Junior Logan Robinson is listed behind Unruh, who’ll make his first start.
True freshman Trevor Viers has changed sides of the ball. Formerly a defensive end, Viers now is listed as the backup to Nick Stringer at right tackle.
Freeman, a true freshman, replaces senior Dylan Meier at QB. Coach Ron Prince announced that after the 17-3 loss to Baylor.
