Montana State University is on the hunt for a new wide receivers coach.

Coach Johnathan Beasely is leaving MSU and heading home. He is going back to work for his alma mater, Kansas State, Athletics Director Peter Fields said, adding he does not know in what capacity Beasley is returning.

Sports Information Director for the Wildcats Kenny Lannou also said he couldn't comment officially on what position Beasely would be taking

Beasely, who joined the Cats in 2007, coaching the receivers, was a two-year starting quarterback at Kansas State under Bill Snyder who returned to the Wildcats coaching helm this year.

MSU Coach Rob Ash is on vacation and could not be reached for comment. There is no word yet on who will fill the void left at MSU.

    Ready for Maize girls!
So instead of hiring a real assistant, we hired a former player.

THANKS, OLD "GARY WILLIAMS" BALLZ!

If anyone understands the type of offense that Snyder runs, Beasley does.   This is a good move.

depends on if they give him a job or not.  If he's a GA like has been rumored I'm perfectly fine with it.

Either way,  if Snyder is going back to his tree to help build the program, Beasley is probably one of the few former players who understands the offense better than anyone.

Except you've never been on ESPN and Fox Sports leading your team to a bowl victory.

I don't know about you, but I think we've all put on a couple of lbs. since college.
I'd much rather have a 69 year old coach than one that weighs 400+ pounds.

So is Mangino, and he hasn't had any problem beating the crap out of us the past few years.

Not necessarily true.  The vast majority of good coaches were good players at the level they coach at.  Yes, there are a few exceptions, but they are not the norm.
