All Rise... The Judge is in the house.
From during the ku game and after I remember some shots of him, but not today.  At the half the announcer was like, "And Frank Martin has got to be thrilled."  Frank was walking into the tunnel like someone had just cut him off in traffic.

There was one after texas got called for a foul that probably was a bad call and we had all the momentum at the time and the crowd was booing. It was like for 2 seconds but I remember it.

    Catch it!
Thank you dax.

Martinites will never recognize the fact that Frank Martin is a high school coach who doesn't have the first clue what he's doing out there.

This is the last Big 12 win this season.

It's pretty clear to any one who's not a rabid Martinite that Frank Martin doesn't have an effing clue on how to get this team prepared to play any semblance of Big 12 basketball.

I feel sorry for any current future coaches that have to put up with you and daxis bullcrap

Does anyone have a screenshot of Frank Martin smiling? I don't think I have ever seen a smile on his face like the one today.

He gives plenty of sarcastic smiles when he wants to kick the ref in the face

Another thing:  Awesome moment when Martin is facing away from our FT shooter down on a knee praying to his Cuban god.  Then, said Cuban God comes through like crazy with the offensive rebound by Jamar.   :woot:

this was one of my favorite moments in the game because I was praying too (though I was praying to Britney Spears and she came through).

I'm happy, great job by Frank.

Too bad he didn't have the team prepared to play like this to start the season.

But hey, I thought K-State had suck ass talent . . . the Martinites, they just can't get past their own idiotic logic.

Ya, all Clemente needed was better preparation from Frank to go off for 44...

Yeah, because all those screens they were setting for him early in the year didn't work.

A lack of screens is why he's a career 33% 3P shooter. Heck, I'd run all my 33% gunners of screens.

He was hot today. No doubt about it. But it wasn't because Martin decided before the game that he was going to run him off picks. It was probably after he was 3-3 that Frank decided that.

I think Frank finally got fed up with DC charging the lane and throwing up garbage shots. After adjusting the O to prevent it, he unwittingly stumbled into a gold mine. Either way... awesome baby!

you are tremendously dumb. have you ever won a fight w/ku fans?

Please just go fellate Tigerboard, or send an annoyingly anal email to an instructor.   You're a F'ing tard.

Meanwhile . . . Frank is just destroying the Martinite talking point that this team has trash talent.   Great job of coaching Frank!!

It's a shame the team wasn't better prepared for the first 4 games of the conference season.

No he isn't.  The talent is still trash.  Games like this happen, but they balance out over the year (heck, they've balanced out in 7 games).

We are still a 6-10 type team.

I like how he immediately turned around after the shot to see the rebound.  Frank knew there was no Fracking way he was going to make it.  Frank is awesome.   :kstatriot:

LOL . . . yet Clemente (part of the trash talent) just tied an NBA lottery pick for the most points in a conference game.

Better floor spacing last night, the switching of the defenses and putting Kent up top in the zone . . . all much better coaching, what a change from that completely lost effort at Nebraska where again, Frank admitted he did a $hit job of coaching the team.

Oh yeah, since I know the Martinites are in the process of twisting their idiot logic to fit the situation . . . this doesn't mean I think KSU is going to win the conference.

one player going off does not = "talent".  Pretty much everyone in the league has someone (or multiple players) that could go off for 40 in the right situation.

Switching up defenses?  GMAFB.  Did they even play 10 possessions of zone?

All coaches get outcoached, and outcoach others over the course of a season.  Even doc might get outcoached

Overall the team has been much better prepared, and playing with a lot more confidence (except for everyone but Clemente at crunch time yesterday), great job of coaching by Frank for recovering from a $hit coaching job to start the conference season.

And LOL at the Martinites who are falling all over themselves trying to deny this reality.

so martin "coached up" Pullen for the MU game and then "coached up" Clemente for the UT game.  nice job Frank, way to have ESP to always coach up the guy that had a good game.

Dax, the worst part about your posts is that you fail to see that (a) this team does not have talent of the top 6 teams, and that point really isn't subjective, it's fact, based on multiple recruiting services and (b) you fail to see that "martinites" never said Frank can't/couldn't/doesn't coach, merely that the emphasis that you put on it isn't near as important as getting elite/above average talent.

you point to a game where a player goes for 44 points as "good coaching" and a team being "prepared"?  JFC, Martin must me the coach of all coaches because of the top 6 scoring performances in KSU history, 2 have been under Martin and of the 5 top scoring performances in Big 12 History 2 have been under Martin as well.

QFT

As a reformed Martinite (I know see the harsh light of reality that dax has shown upon the high school coach who doesn't have the first clue out there, and has pretty much lucked his way into his 3 big 12 wins so far ) I think I can help bridge the gap between the two camps.

You see we normal people (non-Martinites) can see how inconsistent a coach Frank is.  Just  over a week ago his teams were clearly not prepared for Big 12 play.  This is 100% due to poor in week coaching.  The team did not buy into Frank's gameplans and insane substitution patterns. Its obvious when a team realizes they have incompetent coaching staff.  We could not even depend a simple pick and roll from Baylor.  Sure we Frank tried to run some high school zone schemes out there to control the penetration, but the players knew they wouldn't work.

Sometime in the last week or so, someone must have shown Frank some rudimentary coaching techniques.  (LOL at Frank reading a book.)  Besides just yelling at players and stomping his boots (will he get a hat to match [Prince anyone?]) he must have started teaching them something as well for the first time in his tenure here at Kansas State.  I bet if you sat in on practices now and before the Nebraska game you would see huge fundamental differences in what drills they run and how they practice offensive sets  (as if you could call what we ran before an offense!).  Let's just hope that Frank doesn't revert back to his old bad habits of running shoddy practices, and keeps listening to whoever could bring Frank Martin from not having an effing clue on how to get this team prepared to play any semblance of Big 12 basketball to winning a road game against a top 15 team IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS.

In fact I think we should just find the guy who is obviously tutoring Frank and hire him.

I will save the Martinites the time and give you your reply:

Quote from: Martinites
Blah Blah Blah, you can't just "learn" how to be a good coach in two weeks.
Blah Blah Blah, the team does not have upper tier Big 12 talent.
Blah Blah Blah, Doc (for you sd and sys)!
 :powertard:

As dax said: Its a shame Frank did not care enough about this team to get them prepared for the first four games of the conference season.  He did a garbage job of coaching (even he admitted it!) and that's why he enlisted the help of some basketball 'X and O' savant.  I just wonder who it is?

Frank also seemed a lot more laid back in this game.  You think his new adviser is teaching him calming techniques too?  I hope not, I like it when he stomps and says Frack.  Plus it makes the tards mad.   :dancin:
