 He'll probably actually lose out on a couple million. If he stayed and played well he could have been a early first round pick, but i can't see him getting drafted in the first round right now. This will probably turn out like the bill walker situation with freemie ridding the pine for a couple years.

Lots of QB's ride the bench for a few seasons.

Ryan has great weapons and a good line, Flaco has a solid run game and good offensive line.

If Stafford goes to detroit/KC he will suck.

dude that is seriously off base.  Flaco has been running the offense in Baltimore not just a shell to get them through.  He has shown to be a great passer and decision maker, both of which I hope we can agree Freeman isnt.  Ryan I will give you has a shell and not a full O to work with but has proven to be a great decision maker.  He is NOT hurting his team.   Once again Freeman couldnt keep himself from blowing a game (See all Big12North Games).  Ryan has a great vet running back in Dunn and a solid team, but by no means is that team "good".  They go rid of key vets (Crumpler) and have taken risks on unproven player.

Ryan Has the NFL's second leading rusher with almost 1700 yds dumbass.

Balt has the league's second best defense and was +13 give/take.

Thank God.  I was hoping he would leave.  We are better off without him.  His lack of leadership and decision making on the field hurt us.  He will fail in the NFL.  If he thought Iowa State's defense was difficult, wait until he has the Steelers D running after his ass.  That is if he ever steps on the field.

I"m not going to trash Josh but it's not a big deal either way.  He only had one year left to play and we are going to pretty well suck next year either way.  We won't be as good without him next year but long term it has no real effect. Either way Snyder was always going to have to find and develop a QB to run his system.

What has he ever led? The scout team? When did he show leadership? Confidence? When he was fumbling on the goalline in garbage time against Tech?

How many times this year did your OL and RB ineptitude relegate our offense to chucking the ball deep? Too often. Carson can't throw the ball 35 yards downfield, much less 55.

We will have at least five. I say six but can see seven. If Coffman is the man we will be fine. And one of the others could surprise everyone. JF had never shown his potential so not sure why next year would be any different. Coffman showed confidence and leadership. Which wins more games than potential never realized.

Good luck Josh, you were okay I guess, I know you probably didn't like the prospect of actually you know . . . having to work for your starting job, and maybe dealing with Old Ball's propensity to yank QB's when they throw interceptions and fumble the ball and the offense isn't moving.

I am surprised many of the posters on this thread are intelligent enough to operate a computer and post on this message board.  Cherry picking games here and there, and completely ignoring the fact that the defense was abysmal while the offense was solid this year, are not ways to form a solid and coherent argument.  Freeman was a good player and would likely have been very good next year.  Losing him is not a good thing in any way, shape, or form.

you people are f'ing idiots.  If the defense got as better, year from year, as Josh did from his freshman year, we'd be playing today.  completely f'ing idiots.  It's tough to "lead" a team when the OL sucks complete donkey d*ck, you have no running back, and your defense has the resistancy of air. 
Michael Bishop was a "leader" because he had an NFL line in front of him, an NFL-caliber wide reciever, an NFL caliber RB, and a defense that was littered with NFL players.  Same for J. Beasley and E. Roberson.  f'ing idiots.  I mean, do you think D. Meier's problem was that he didn't have "fire"?  No, he had zero talent and so did the team around him.  Same for AE.  They had no talent, Josh does it's just a shame that no one else on the team does/did.

Freeman was a good player and has always had great potential.  That being said, he gets gun shy in the pocket and is prone to bad decisions...particularly when that happens.  Joe Cool...he is not.  He could've finally gotten some good coaching next year and seen what a good coach is.  He no doubt would've been a better QB had he stayed one more year...not just when he enters the draft but over his career.  Good background and coaching in college really seems to help guys out throughout a pro career.  I know why Freeman is going now, potential changes to 1st year player salaries, weaker QB class this year, new system coming in, new coaching, etc.  That being said, it is kind of like Huggins used to say, do you want to play pro ball, or have a career?  I don't see Freeman as having the intangibles to make it as more than a backup QB for a few years and I doubt he ever really even gets a shot at #1.  Another yr of playing under Sndyer and I think he had the potential to be an actual QB in the league.  That being said, good luck, Josh and thanks for the time...I wish you the best of luck.

But what most others realize that many of you don't, is that you'll always be referring to 'potential' when remembering Josh Freeman. But the actual reality that we've all witnessed was a quarterback that had a size and build for it, but was mediocre even at his best and a colossal &@#%-up under pressure. And thats after all this 'massive improvement' from his freshman year.

He's like a Jason Bennett. Except you actually put all your eggs into the basket and instead of acknowledging the reality of his ineptitude, you persist into delusional fantasies that with a good team around him he would have been great.

He was lazy. He was narcissistic. And he wasn't a good quarterback.
