If you think that Greensburg is bad now, you should have been there the weekend after the tornado. That was a strange place to be.

I was.  Helped a friend of the family.

How about Liberal... a freaking Wizard of Oz park???

....and an annual race while flipping pancakes.

3 fracking years of my life, I had to cover that for KAKE.  It never fails, that damn event always happens on the coldest fracking day of the year.  Burn in hell, Liberal.

Yoder - Saturday night you could find a group of girls sitting in a circle in the middle of main street passing the bottle, this back in the early 70's, they'd do just about anything for a ride in a car.   :fatty:

QFT THey have a "Catholic Academy/Church/Cult that even the pope has disowned. Even heard rumors that they have an artilery of weapons stashed in the bell tower near the church for "The Day". THey have pretty much bought everything that has came up for sale in that town. It is their goal to take the town over. If you are a member your paychecks go to the church and then it is divided amongst the members. most dont have jobs and rely on the goverment to help raise their families. Most of which have 15+ kids.

To those of you who have been back to Greensburg since the 'nado, did M.T. Liggett's farm art survive?

Played a basketball tourney there. Worst time of my entire life. I thought that there was nothing to do in SC, Lindsborg makes SC look like NYC.

Everybody looks the same, they all smell poorly. A terrible place through and through.

No fast food. Nothing.

They have a college, who the &@#% would want to go there? Do they even have a liquor store?

I've been to it.  When we were picking out tailgate liquor, I pointed out the isolated bottles of MD to my buddy.  The owner heard me and informed me he tries to keep MD in stock now for "the brothers who've come here from California for basketball."

Lindsborg used to have a DQ.  Well, sort of. It was 5 miles outside of town on 135.  That and Stuckeys Pecan Rolls. :flush:

Lindsborg is declared winner.

Not for only the weirdest town, but the biggest piece of crap in the world.

none of these towns are interesting enough to seem "weird".  Kind of like Chum said, they're just boring, nothing towns.

That there's been dozens and dozens of nominations, all for basically the same reasons, is what makes none of them weird.

Let's just face the classless facts here.

1.  I was born in Kansas (Atchison, to be specific).

2.  I have lived in Kansas all my life  (Atchison, Manhattan and Olathe).

3.  The whole state is pretty much weird.

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

Yoder is pretty damn weird, but not in a creepy way.  Sure horse and buggy and amish isn't really the norm but when I think weird I'm thinking more along the lines of things like Bombay Beach, CA.  There is another creepy place in New York I think it might be called Mustardville butI can't remember.

Small towns in Kansas generally aren't too bad, some are trashier than others but nothing really weird.  head to Missouri and you will find some really creepy hilbilly deluxe.

Any KS town not named Kansas City, Lawrence, Manhattan, Topeka, or Wichita is a small, boring piece of crap.
