You can't be racist and like basketball.
have you connected flights at KCI?  seems intimidating.

yeah, a few times.  not recently.

intimidating how?  as i recall, it mostly involved getting on a plane and taking off.

go in and out of secruity, busses b/w terminals, etc.
it's no more difficult that connecting anywhere else.  1 bus ride or 3 mile long horizontal escalators, big diff.  majority of MCI connections are same terminal, airline.

Never done it.  Just know that everyone that connects there bitches about connecting there.

Most big airports don't require going through security again.  :dunno:

LAX, big airport, does.  And going through security at MCI is a breeze when compared to other airports.  Oh noes, a line with 10 people in it!    :ohno:

    Not A Basketball Player
When does Terminal B open up at MHK?

QFT.  All I care about is how this will help MHK and subsequently help KSU athletics.

http://www.themercury.com/News/article.aspx?articleId=8429ca6de64c411c87265ef6c16cc4d4

He predicted that companies nationally and around the world would want to open subsidiaries here, and forecast that Manhattan's population would double in the next two decades due to this decision.

Also this from earlier in the year...

http://cjonline.com/stories/032808/bre_nbaf.shtml

Sebelius earlier this year signed a bill allowing up to $2 million in subsidies for airline service to the regional airport in Manhattan, a measure designed in part to make Kansas’ proposal on NBAF more attractive.
I can hardly contain my excitement for this.

Is that true about LAX? How humiliating to the city of Los Angeles.

ya dude that airport is huge.  not really embarassing if you consider how many different airlines go in and out of the place.  no way one security point could cover them all.  i guess i don't see the big deal imo.  LAX is my favorite airport fwiw...great taxi service, movie stars, great food, easy to get in and out of, overall a  :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

so, like terminal to terminal you need to go through security all over again? ATL doesn't do that, and if you want to argue LAX is bigger than ATL, I will personally travel to KC and beat the sh*t out of you.

The airport is a major hub for both United Airlines and Alaska Airlines, as well as a focus city for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines.

united is impossible to avoid considering it's snugly relationship w/DIA.

Burbank is far superior, they still routinely herd you onto the tarmac before boarding.

And for craptty security lines try San Jose around the holidays.  I got into the security line at 5:30 AM and missed a 9 AM flight a few years ago.  People intimidated by KCI would just melt down there.

i still don't get the bitching about the airport thing.  the last time i looked, mhk gets like 6-8 flights daily from kc and denver.  if ksu wanted to fly athletes in, it doesn't seem like it would really be that hard.

Would be nice to have nicer planes and direct flights to DFW or ORD.  :dunno:

I know beasley got flown in but hated the little plane.

The best airport if you like spotting is HNL, fatty.  They have outdoor walkways that are wing level to the jumbos.  We departed our Continental 764 and walked by 4 JAL 747-400s sitting so close you could jump on the wing.  Kona also deplanes by stairs, which is cool because United stops their OGG-ORD 777 there for cleaning on the way back to the main-land.  Not many places you deplane a wide body on stairs.

Dump  :flush:

Agreed, but for spotting it doesn't get much better.  They do have planes to redo the terminals beginning in 2011.
