The QB constroversy is why Prince ran off the best QBs before the season started. No way to make that one go away, particularly when Meier sucks and Freemans sucks even more.
I remember correctly, Roberson came into the LaTech game in 2000 after Beasley had pretty much won that game, and people were cheering hollering. I even heard of people saying it was ABOUT TIME!!
Then Roberson proceeded to do a QB draw and got tackled for loss, then incomplete, then 2 yard gain ... then punt. Roberson was never brought back in again, or when he was, it was obvious the game was won. TV analysts during the Big 12 CC game had stated that Roberson was coming back, and thought he'd be as good as Bishop.. and for not even really playing that much.
Three years later, Roberson is the best damn QB KSU ever had under Snyder and maybe even KSU history. Of course, Beasley did wonders in the 2000 season and KSU should have gone to a BCS bowl, having played OU twice and closer than any other Big 12 team. Watching KSU dismantle Tennessee in one of Beasley's finest performances after having to endure pre-season and OOC criticism was kinda of the icing on the cake for his career. Meier is facing the same kinds of questions, and criticism, although Meier certainly hasn't lived up to being a Beasley, he probably could be one, and only two games into the season doesn't really show where he can go.
Watching the conversation in this thread is amazing. Freeman was being touted by so many people as being better than Meier, and they are correct, only, Freeman had a bad start, which is not without precedence anywhere in the history of KSU football, or football for that matter. Watching Titan's fans screaming for VY then only to discover he ain't as good in the NFL as he was in college, reality sets in when the pundits say he's got a lot to learn. Players of Freeman's caliber, in fact every player has bad games, and usually, they happen when they get their first start on the field.
Freeman is a beast, and has incredible talent, but there is no way you can say Freeman is worse than Meier when you consider that history repeats itself. I see that Meier will become much better, but will soon be forgotten when he is eventually passed by Freeman.
