You can't be racist and like basketball.
Could be very good for us.

I'd also like BV to shut us out, (if we lose) to make him look good.  :peek:

what a joke of a thread.  seriously, who roots for other teams to lose? isn't it good enough that your team blows, do they not lose enough for kRusty's appetite?

this is pathetic.  you're what the rap artists call a "hater"

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

TT hawks all sorts of local goods.  During football season every other commercial on TV is for Bryant hotdogs.  I am currently looking for 'tubes.

Have you ever imagined walking in on Prince while he was masturbating?  That's pretty gross, too.

Stoops, who was Snyder's defensive backs coach for two years and his defensive coordinator for five more, tried to spread some of the Snyder gospel this spring when he invited his former mentor to speak at a high-school coaches clinic.

"I know coach has a great deal of respect for him, and he just kind of gave an overview of their program, their philosophy, things they believed in," offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said.

"There might be some guys that have statistically better records, but from where they started and what he built is a great credit to not only him but the coaches he brought in. I know he is one of the more respected men of coach Stoops' life."

It was a bit of a reunion for Stoops and Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables with Snyder, who retired after the 2005 season and was replaced by current Wildcats coach Ron Prince.

"He said it was going to be like a staff meeting: `Bobby and Brent, you guys have been in a number of them. Brace yourself. It's going to be about an hour-and-a-half staff meeting here," said Venables, who played linebacker at K-State before joining Snyder's staff. Stoops hired him away when he became Oklahoma's head coach in 1999.

This will be the first time Stoops and Venables have returned to Kansas State (4-3, 1-2) since Snyder stepped down, although Venables predicted "he'll be lurking around there."

Snyder still grooming BV?

During pregame conversations Stoops and Venables had with Bill Snyder, the offensive makeover gripping college football could have been a topic discussed. Stoops had the opportunity, visiting "a good long time" with the head coach he served under for seven seasons at K-State.

Rather than disclose any shop talk, Stoops instead said he enjoyed the chance to reminisce.

"I do have special emotions here and I am fond of this place," Stoops said. "I loved working for coach Snyder. You don't spend seven years investing in something like that without having strong feelings about a place."

The lone victory in the year (1989) they arrived was remembered most fondly. It snapped a 30-game winless streak, which included a 70-24 pasting the day Oklahoma put up those 829 yards.

"It's still one of the favorites in my life ... the North Texas win that first year," Stoops said. "I've never been somewhere where a team needed a win so bad, and that got us started."

Saturday I left wondering where — almost 20 years later — it is all headed.

Kansas State totaled 550 yards, yet never posed much of a threat to upset the nation's No. 4-ranked team after forging the tie midway through the second quarter.

Josh Freeman flexed a strong arm and continued to exhibit toughness as a rusher, yet attempted silly throws that were picked off.

Ron Prince dreamed to pull off the unthinkable, having his kicker fall intentionally to execute an onside kick, but the gamble backfired and gave OU yet a short field it covered in two plays for a touchdown.

Maybe that's why I found myself drifting over to the Oklahoma locker room after the game. Maybe it's why I said hello to Stoops, shook hands and wished him well. Same with Venables.

Their presence reminded me of better days.

"Everything I'm about professionally and personally, good, bad or indifferent, I owe to here," Venables said. "There's nothing but good memories for me. It's a beautiful place, a different part of the country and one that you greatly miss."

Safe to say those coaches are missed here, too.
