What are some of your non-coffee methods?  When I was in school I had a few.  I liked to keep my legs about six inches off the ground for extended periods of time.  Also if I knew I was going to be super tired during class, like if I had been up really late the night before, I usually would drink loads of water beforehand.  Impossible to fall asleep when you really, really have to pee.  Impossible to concentrate during class too, but whatev.  Who's there to learn anyway?  And bonus: it also always gave me the near-O that you get when you really, really, really have to go and then finally get a chance to.

If I'm driving at night and I'm tired I like to roll down the window.  Fresh air helps.  But more than that I like to pull out my nosehairs.

You? :dunno:

Rub one out?  :dunno:

Editors Note: This would not go over well in a classroom setting

Water usually helps. Going outside if it's cold. Falling asleep. Bite my cheek (inside). Play solitaire.

Pleasure yourself, but not to completion.

You'll be wide awake.  Not in the best of moods, but something has to give.

I have a bad habit of staying out until I'm too tired to drive home.  Then when I do drive home, I have to find a way to stay awake.  I usually crank the AC to the max and turn the radio up really loud.  In the classroom though?  Read the student newspaper.  Not much learning actually takes place though, so it might be better to just stay home and sleep and try to get more sleep next go round so you're not tired during class.

Or, you know, coffee.

always odd when the prof calls you out for that.

When it happens ask, "who's working for who here?" and then make the little 'get on with it' gesture with your hand.

driving:  smoke a cigar (takes a while to smoke so it extends the awakedness), sunflower seeds, rap/hard rock music cranked up.

home:  sportscenter (could watch it 10 times in a row and not be tired)

school:  i just slept

I also put on music with crazy drums and go to town on the airdrums if I'm driving.  Ultimate Fakebook or Green Day's "Dookie" are good for keeping you awake during night driving.

tear out the crossword and/or sudoku before class and place it on your notebook... teacher never knows (assuming there are no front row pussies in here)
