Q: Is it overly optimistic to still think the cats can make it to a bowl game?
jmlynch, Manhattan 9/03/06
A: Probably. But there are still people (mostly kids) who still believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy - why not the Cats?
Jeffrey Martin 9/03/06

Q: With the subpar performance with the O-line. Do you think Prince will be delegating less and taking over the coaching of the O-line?
Mike, Anaheim Hills, CA 9/03/06
A: I think he should, but if he doesn't, he has a scapegoat.
Jeffrey Martin 9/04/06

Q: After what I saw last night I'm thinking 3 wins is all for the `Cats this year - talk me off the ledge and tell me we'll have more than 3, please.
Frank, Pratt 9/03/06
A: Nah, three sounds about right. No more than five or six, I'm guessing.
Jeffrey Martin 9/04/06

Q: I have some friends who attended the game Saturday night. The best comment I heard regarding the offensive line is that it was 'offensive'. 'More chaos than a Keystone Kops movie'. We hired an offensive line coach to get this? Is there a shred of embarrassment in the guy, or is it the standard 'we'll be better (against an even more inferior opponent) next week'?
Catscratch, Broomfield, Co 9/04/06
A: I was wondering when you'd check in, 'Scratch. The thing I would advise people is that this whole situation can ONLY get better. It was weird, though. There was no sense of shame at all, from Prince to the players, for squeaking out a one-point win against an I-AA team. That, to me, speaks volumes about where this program is at. It wasn't even relief - more like ambivalence. Really bizarre.
Jeffrey Martin 9/04/06

Scary.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

This is what's really sad.  We fell off the face of the freakin' earth.

I off and on listened to the Ron Prince radio show while driving back to Manhattan a few hours ago.

He didn't sound upset or really that concerned. Every aspect he was questioned on he said they did a great job. Even the offensive line he didn't sound the least bit upset about. He took the direct, easy hits on all the questions they lobbed at him never really saying anything unexpected or surprising. He did say Clayton disagreed with being suspended for the Illinois State game but handled it professionally. If you were expecting him to light a fire under people's asses for the 1 point win, I don't get the impression that he's thinks he needs to.

Ian Campbell and Yamon Figurs said some crap but I didn't stick around to listen.

BULL crap  :bs: :bs: :bs: Prince did say that we needed a ton of improvement and especially on the O-line. he said that several aspects were good but we shouldn't be extremely happy about the win.

Not sure where you heard that but that is most certainly not what he said.
