    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

All I wanted to do was add a couple of emoticons that summarize what we Cubs fans are feeling, namely:

The thread is a celebration of Cubs wins.  When there are no more wins to be had, there is no reason for the thread to stick around.  I retired last year's thread after the season was over, and I'll do the same thing next year, and the year after that.  The same goes for the (surprisingly long) Dolphins thread.

Here's mine:  :dunno:

I had no rational expectation of getting past the Dodgers; the brilliant Blake and Ramirez acquisitions transformed them into serious contenders, nothing like the team the Cubs dominated early in the year.  They're on fire, the Cubs weren't, that's how it goes, and I'm fine with it.

The bottom line is that I'm not going to let three bad days spoil 97 great ones.  It was a good year, even better than the year before, and I'll remember it fondly.  And of course, next year should be another fun ride.  Many bananas to come.
