Article on GoPowerCat, interview with Snyder stated:

"But I don't believe in $150 million facilities. I just don't. And I think it sends a bad message to young people – there's that thought about entitlement, is there not?" ...

"And we need not to overspend our boundaries in regard to facilities just to entice some young guy who has his head in the wrong place to Kansas State University."

Smack.

I'd hate to have all of the talented Texas players that have their heads in the "wrong place."

Snyder's mantra of doing more with less personified his success.   I'd hate to think that we could do more with a lot more and end up like a Texas team that had spent so much for so little success.

I have never said spend $150 million dollars either.

You clearly only read what you wanted to read on the other board MJ, like so many others on there.

BTW ... Prince and staff ... hate Vanier, but they may never generate enough clout to do anything about it.   But they wanted the construction stopped and the whole place torn down and done over when they first got to KSU.

As usual, you're an easy one to get.

I never said you said anything about $150 million, the point was a direct response to the continuous statement about the focus of the administration and it's facilities.

I'm with Java and FKSUFSODJ on this one.  I'd much rather barely beat a I-AA program than be in the hunt for the national title year after year, at least until I faced OU each season.

Come on, you're not that retarded.   They've been spending God awful amounts of money for almost 4 decades.

And now they get something?

My God, is it any wonder no one can take you seriously?

No they haven't.  If you'd paid attention you'd know they didn't start spending huge amounts of money on facilities until the 1990's ... guess who else actually started spending money on facilities in the 1990's.

Give it up Rod.

Seriously, your hangup with the facilities is meaningless and isn't the issue with people who understand how this works.  KSU's slide has nothing to do with money spent on facilities.  You're only shining example is Texas, but you fail to take into consideration other factors.  I'll let you figure it out.  Then again, I'm sure you wont.

Who started the thread??  Texas isn't the only example ... did OU just spend $100 million on football faciliites, Iowa $100 million, Michigan is set to spend over $200 million, Minn. over $250 million, Wisconsion over $100 million ... there's $1.6 BILLION dollars worth of facilities on the drawing board, or just completed in the Big 12 ... KSU is 1.25% of that number, two straight last place finishes ... apparently all the people that run those other schools are complete idiots.

What difference does that make?   The point still stands and the results speak for themselves.

Perhaps, when you consider the all the scenarios, KSU should have dropped to I-A status.  The reason that KSU dropped has little to do with facilities.  A man with your intellectual ability should have figured that out, or was it lost in the hard drive crash as well?

You're the one making the stupid ass statements.

Texas didn't start spending huge dollars on football facilities until 1997 Rod ... well guess what?? 8 years later they've won 2 BCS bowls, a Big 12 Championship and a National Title.

Give it a rest, you've lost!!

Plus, I have never said that KSU was dropping off solely because of facilities ... but you choose to miss that as well.  You're the consumate PowerTard.

Didn't you argue a while back that stars didn't matter?

And facilities do matter as well,  but there are outliers (like Bill Snyder)

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I didn't lose anything.   You haven't shown jack diddly squat period.  You seem to forget that the State of Texas has emphasized high school football and development of talent far ahead of most states.   It has little to do with the facilities UT has built and more towards the Texas high schools creating more emphasis on developing players.    You only see what you want to see, and not the big picture.  It's not about facilities, it's about getting kids to come play for you.

So I guess all the schools spending on the money on facilities are just a bunch complete idiots and it's a total waste of money.

I guess if you just talk right to the kids, have the right sales pitch, and your school is in a talent laden area you've got it made.  Man, what a bunch of dumbasses at Texas ... didn't they know all you had to was bring in the right talker and it was they needed to do.  Gosh, I wonder why Mack Brown asked for all those faciilties when he just could've talked guys like Vince  Young into going to school there even if the dressing room was a Porta Pottie.

What are Bob Stoops and Joe Castiglione thinking??  Why has Florida State spent $120 million on football facilities in the last decade ... don't they realize they're in Florida and that's all that matters??

Heck, why did KSU even bother to go into $4 million dollars worth of debt in 1992 to build faciilties??  What a bunch of idiots.

You just keep shooting yourself in the foot everytime you respond.

Schools spend money on facilities to provide the best environment for athletic development with new techniques and equipment to help train the athletes better.  I think it's great that schools do that and show interest in trying to develop athletes with the best available.  That's always a good thing.  The problem is, the best facilities do not replace things such as coaching and educational opportunities.  Facilities are not the sole or even MAIN reason a kid goes to a school, but in your world they are.  But for you, the answer is always spend money on the facilities, and that will bring the kids and championships.   Uh huh.
