Anyone else like it?  I can't stand it.  Lived in Kansas my entire life and never cared for it once.  I even knew from an early age that I hate it.  Remember going to the skating rink when you were a kid?  WHen I was like 6 years old I would get off the floor when they played a country song.

I have managed to avoid going to the cvntry Stampeed all these years:

random drunk hillbilly friend:  "d00d we have an extra Stampede ticket you should come"

me:  "cvntry Stampeed?  GMAFB?!?"

What is the appeal of this crap?

in the end it's all a bunch of senseless drivel

Just remember, Country Stampede is the closest thing a Kansan can get to Mardi Gras without going to New Orleans.  It's like a Girls Gone Wild advertisement.

When I was six years old I once cried because my mom made me leave Putt-Putt while "Elvira" was playing.

I like Split Lip. Would they be considered a form of bluegrass? Punkrockgrass or something? Anyway the wife and I had tickets for the last show they did before Kirk died and I had to give 'em away.  :crybaby:

BTW something I forgot to add in the original post, is my theory about how listening to country music makes you dumber.

My theory is if you take a bunch of lab rats and run them through mazes, their time will be slower while country music is being played compared to a control group of rats with no music playing.  This might be intersting to compare times for all genres of music, but I still think the country music rats would have the slowest times.  IMO.
