Highlight of the day. B/c kids won't call them IMO.  Makes them feel connected to the outside world.
"Kids used to hit him and stab him with pencils," says Harley Bennett, Jason's father. "Finally I told him he had to stick up for himself. Jason is not a violent person. One day he hit one of the kids back and got suspended."

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
Used to be a big deal when I was like 8. It's slowly losing it's effect.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

I have some old people neighbors that must be out there within 5 minutes of the mail coming...MUST.  I'll go days without getting it even though it's right by my back yard ('cept b-day season a'course  :fatty:)

QFT.

Nothing gets you through life better than when you expect a couple of cards filled with cash everyday for a week.

Our 2 year old loves the mail.  He gets home from daycare and he's all, "Mail daddy?"  And I'm all, sure let's go.  And then we're carrying back my wife's latest issue of US weekly or Glamor or whatever else she let some teenager push on her, and I'm all  if a neighbor sees us with it.

Old people

 :dunno:

I know one old guy like that but then he gets a six-figure check in the mail every month.  I'd probably just live in a tent next to the mailbox if I were him.

good call on the old people and mail connection.  very solid observation.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

Those thoughts go right along with spending the rest of your life waking up with cold chills in the middle of the night and going, "Oh, crap! I forgot that paper due in the morning"
