anyone else remember after the 2001 season how some of us blamed the 6-6 season on 9-11 fracking up with our schedule? pretty much every team that had a disappointing year in 2001 blamed 9/11 for moving their games and "breaking momentum".

IMHO, this topic is still a little too fresh to joke about - I am as thick skinned as any of y'all (and more than many), but perhaps a little respect is in order... have any of you all seen that movie, Flight 93 without getting a little misty eyed or just down right pissed? That is a tough movie to watch.

BTW where were you all when 9/11 happened? I was walking into one of the Bldgs on campus and someone had a TV hooked up and we all watched the second plane hit the other tower live. I immediately sprinted home, woke up my wife, and turned on CNN. That feeling will never leave me - I will never forget watching those people jumping from those windows...

I know freedom of speech lets you all say what you want and I am cool with that, but I want to say thanks to those who respect it enough not to make jokes, I had two cousins killed in the South tower, and it just makes it a lot different when it involves your family. I remember that day going to the recruiting office and asking them where I could kill me some camel jockeys, they then proceded to sit me down and try to calm me. I wanted to just go blow them all up and I know it wasn't all of them but they did not give a crap about our innocent why should we theres. Anyway thanks to some of you for actually showing respect. Most of my family still lives in the Albany, New York area as well as on Long Island, and if any of you lived there or lost someone in the attacks its a totally different feeling then for others. anyway....

We give a crap about their innocents because we are better than the terrorists, right?  (Anyway, this is moving pretty far afield from football.)  By the way, I was in NYC on 9/11/01 and I watched the towers burn.  Although I worked many blocks away in midtown in 2001, I now work downtown and could see and hear this morning's ceremony from my office window.  I don't make jokes about it, but I'm pretty OK with those who do.  Now, back to our regularly scheduled sarcasm...

Mostly I'm too lazy to get off my couch on Saturday afternoons, but if I do, I usually go watch games at the Village Pourhouse (which is not the official KSU bar) because that's where my friends go.  I guess the official KSU spot is Ship of Fools, and maybe I'll go watch the Louisville game up there after work next Wednesday.  We'll see -- I'm pretty lazy.

Well, seven years ago yesterday...

I had gotten off a late night flight out of LAX to MCI on September 10th and landed at 11:30pm after visiting LA for the Kstate vs. USC game.
If I had decided to stay one more day (9/11).... and I would have been taking a Greyhound 1500 miles home.

Anyway, I remember being pretty pissed that terrorist not only attacked our country, killed thousands of people, but also sucked all of the joy out of what should be experienced every saturday during the fall... College football.  &@#%ing terrorist.   

If anything good could come from that piece of crap day, it gave millions of americans some way to feel patriotic.  I remember losing all my hatred towards whitey and the gays and just hated everything ...  brown middle eastern muslim extremist muslim terrorist.

I was thinking I may go to the Pourhouse with some KSU friends on Wed. seeing as how it won't be overrun by SEC fans and the bartender will actually have a clue as to what channel ESPN 2 is as opposed to me yelling, "our game is on FCS!" and having him stare blankly back at me.

As for old Shippers, I went there a couple of times last year - Tejas game was legit up there, a huge contingent. After that though it kind of dwindled as our suckage manifested itself on the field. I haven't heard anything from the alumni association on Ship of Fools this year or anywhere else for that matter.

We should like start a new york meeting spot/mini revolution, man.

I remember Sean Hannity had just started his show on WABC I think like the week before the Towers. I started streaming the show and for like 2 days after the tower and I thought he was amazing. You see, anger had blinded me. I listened to Hannity jump to all kinds of conclusions about the middle east and Islam and was really on the verge of being totally hateful like him and his followers.

Thank god I have a very sophisticated bullcrap meter and realized that Hannity had no clue about what actually happened. Then I started realizing that nobody had any clue about what really happened.

Now I realize that Hannity is a bonafide shill, along with a number of others who spout the same hate as he does.
