There's a new sheriff in town.
Nickels are damn near worthless.

Sacagawea Golden Dollar Coin: I mean, it's a dollar...it has some value. Good for a refill at Daras, or a taco at the Bell with change to spare. Plus, it's GOLD(en)!

Quarter: Gotta have 'em for car washes, candy machines, soda machines, it is the backbone of the coin industry.

Dime: great value for it's size...the smallest of the U.S. coins, yet worth a whole 10 pennies. Plus, they're cute. Don't weigh you down if you have several in your pocket.

Penny: Great copper color, plus comes in very handy when your drive-thru total is $7.51 or something similar. Give 'em a penny and you get 2 quality quarters in return. Good for a snack, soda, etc. later in the day! It's like free money!

Nickels: Friggin' HUGE for their value. If all you got are nickels and your at the self-checkout at Dillons, pack a lunch, cause it's gonna take you all day to check out. They take up too much space in your coin jar/dish. Nickels suck. They're the ku of coins, IMO. Smooth edge...yucky!

Thoughts?...

Agreed.  They're basically a holdover from the days that old people always talk about when "candy/soda/etc. was only a nickel."   Probably much more convenient in those days.

Good for train tickets at automated Amtrack vending machines in the Bay Area.  Just don't ever buy a $2 ticket with a $20 bill on the way to an interview because you'll get 18 of the damn things back in change from the macines (which return only coins).

They're big enough to fling at someone without wasting a lot of money.  Also, a roll of them in the fist really backs up a punch in the nose.

What if they changed the President to say Taft?  And why does Washington and Lincoln get a coin and a bill? :dunno:
Here's hoping that Clams is chillin' with someone cool up in that big EMAW in the sky. RIP Clams, RIP.

your attempt to spin pennies was pathetic. they are complete crap.

but yes, dimes are the best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

absolutely agree. maybe if we made our change worth something. this is one idea that the us should adopt from other countries. when you realize that the change in your pocket can get you into a movie, buy a meal, a beer, or solicit sex, is the day you realize that you like change.

Thanks to debit/credit cards my pristine hands rarely encounter filthy change. You're obviously a dirty, change-loving street urchin.

I routinely run my card for amounts less than $1.  The person at the gas station always gives me the stink eye like I need to be buying mroe than just a snickers to run my card.

They dont have a minimum amount you have to purchase? Almost everywhere here in Manhattan now is either $3-5.

Not here, though credit/debit cards may still be a new concept to nebraskians.

dimes are the cutest thing ever. whem im bored i like to bounce them off my ladies ass cheeks and see how high they can go.

nickles are just fat lazy dimes. reminds me of my uncle.

pennies are gross. the most handled coin. touched by millions of unwashed hands. again, reminds me of my uncle.

quarters are like prizes. when youre looking for dimes and nickles, and you happen upon a quarter.....wow. that excitement level can rival that of the beginning season of your favorite sport.

Do you know how hard it is to bounce a dime off a ladies ass, then pick up the camera and take a picture of it?
