    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
If you had respect for Drew after the hiring of John Wall's people, than you have to love this.

    *   Two individual sources detailed a story of how the Baylor staff informed Class of 2006 standout Dwight Lewis' family that it would be unwise to attend Kansas because the Jayhawks have the lowest graduation rate in the Big 12. Problem is, Kansas doesn't have the lowest graduation rate in the Big 12. "The irony is that one of the Baylor assistants, Jerome Tang, doesn't even have his bachelor's degree," one coach said. "And they're talking about graduation rates?" Lewis ultimately de-committed from Kansas. He signed with Southern California.
    * Three individual sources detailed a story of how the Baylor staff compiled a package of newspaper reports featuring off-the-court problems surrounding the Memphis program. The sources said Baylor then handed the packet to the family of Randolph, a Class of 2007 star whom Memphis was pursuing. "It wasn't the actual newspaper articles, it was like they had typed the text from the articles into a packet," said one coach who has seen the packet. "That hurt Memphis with the kid." Randolph remains uncommitted, though it's worth noting he is no longer considering Memphis.

Awesome stuff going down at Baylor. Probably has already been posted but unless you forgot.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

To those who think Baylor cheated to get John Wall.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not as if Baylor played by a set of rules that other schools were not willing to play in order to get John Wall. There were a bazillion schools that would have gladly hired Dwon Chilton. Now, I have no reason to doubt that UNC and Duke might have backed off on this kid for that reason, but the rest of the world, including the Kansas, OSU, and Kentuckys of the world were willing to do the same thing.

Drew (more specifically Matt Driscoll) simply outrecruited them.

It wasn't cheating, it was playing by the same rules that the rest of the college basketball world plays by. Good for Drew/Driscoll. Good for Dwon. Good for John Wall. Good for BU.

Now, is this the way the NCAA wants this thing to continue to go? Who knows, though I think any regulation with teeth would be difficult to implement without seriously restricting the freedoms of people who happen to be AAU coaches. In the end, if a player wants to play at a place who is willing to hire his AAU coach, then that's his perogative until the NCAA says it's not. You don't have to like it, but it is fair play, and FINALLY Baylor has a coaching staff who is savvy enough to take advantage of it.

Sic Em Bears!

Since August 22, 2003 Baylor has outrecruited every single school in the country. Coach Drew, Driscoll, Morefield, Tang, Mills, and Brough have out worked and out recruited any other staff in the country. So if you think Baylor has cheated then F@&^ you.

Please give that man his well deserved 82nd reputation point.

Also, are we the only message board in which EVERY poster doesn't have their mascot at the end of their username?

You can't be racist and like basketball.
tang's a fracking stud.  wouldn't surprise me if he arranged the whole dwon hire himself.  prolly never even ran it by drew.

I can't imagine a staff better than Tang, Hill, and Pastner.  I'd pay those three $1mil/piece
