that Sky isn't a PG?  The talk with Sky always centers around whether or not Sky should get minutes over Taybron or Stewart.  He's always in the game with one of those two!  He backs up Akeem and Lance and he's never backed up at the PG position.  He hasn't been a PG since his SO year.

The formula with Sky has been clear all year, when Lance and/or Akeem struggle, he'll get more time.  Its been that way throughout the conference schedule.  Sky helps this team the most at SG, he is not as adept as either Clent or Mario at handling the pressure off the dribble.  His role is what allows him to come out and play calm, cool, and collected.  If he was playing PG 15 minutes a game, the kid would be getting bashed by fans b/c he would struggle.

And let's face it, we pretty much have to play zone when Sky is in there.  He isn't going to man many people up and we sure didn't want him on Stinson or Blalock.  He's a hard working, undersized kid who simply doesn't have a ton of athleticism.  There is a reason he was a walkon.

Please, don't take this as a Sky bash.  I like Sky a lot and to me he represents a lot about what is right in college athletics, he's one of my favorite players on this team.  However, he is a 8-10 minutes per game role player and he should be allowed to be that.  I think the coaches understand that and I don't think they are making a huge error in playing him the amount of minutes he gets.  For some reason Sky has become the basketball team's backup quarterback this year.

Okay, just had to get that off my chest.

Everyone knows that ksuFAN has been a "moderator's pet" ever since FAN registered.  MJRod pretty much handed ksuFAN the ksufans.com analyst job from day 1.[

wow, ksufan lashes out against sky.  fighting back for his starting spot.

"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

You can't be racist and like basketball.
I agree.  Not only does he rarely play man-to-man defense, he's rarely in the game when the opposition is in man-to-man.

His game basically consists of hitting wide open 3's from the wing at a very high percentage.

It was more of a lash against K-State fans than Sky.  It seems many think if Sky played 25 minutes a game we'd have 1 or 2 losses, and I simply don't think that is the case.  If Harris had shot 40% from behind the arc all year we probably would have fewer losses though.  And again, Sky is not a PG.  Period.

You're right.  If Sky played 25 minutes a game, we'd be undefeated and ranked #10 in the country.

I never liked Sky at the point.  If KSUFans.coms message board archived longer, you'd find me saying he was not a Division 1 basketball player.  Well, I take that back, but he is not a PG.

Saul, you're right.  There is a reason he is a former walk-on.  I don't think its disrespectful to Sky to say that, and he'd probably say the same thing.  He does a great job playing his role; the back up to Akeem and Lance.  He should be commended for the way he plays the game, and I'll be the first to say that, but I'm just tired of what is an undue infatuation with Sky and how if he played more we'd be undefeated.  Strange.

He kind of plays "out of control".  His movement is not fluid.  He doesn't play defense well at all.  He makes good high percentage shots, and from what i've seen, he is an excellent leader.

Yeah, its coachspeak and it drives some of you guys nuts, but its legit.  Maybe over done by some coaches, but it goes hand in hand with chemistry IMO.
