Polutions is bad.  Depedence on fossil fuels for energy is bad.  Whether or not is causes global warming is irrelevent.  Going against what you know is the right thing simply to spite a faction of your political rival is retarded.

The issue is that policy makers are making economic decisions to address a concern that doesn't exist, spending hundreds of billions that will cause even hundreds of billions (if not trillions) more in economic losses.    There are better ways to address foreign energy dependence without causing economic destruction that isn't based on a very flawed scientific theory.

Pricing the working poor out of the energy markets is worse.  'Bad' is always relative to something else and our current reliance on hydrocarbon fuels is certainly not 'bad' in relation to any of the short-term alternatives.
