    warm up the EMAW
My sources from both "front lines" say the following:

*Comment: O-line has a rash of injury problems.  Analysis: This ain't exactly rocket science, these guys play hurt all the time, but given the severe lack of depth and talent this should be a big *gulp* moment.  All indications (both stated and unstated) are that this will continue to be a MAJOR problem and improvement will be slow.

*Comment:  The Defense looks better.  Analysis:  Not hard to do.

*Comment:  The Secondary is "sick."  Analysis:  Good news and confirms our optimistic predictions.  I think this is by far the most encouraging and concrete thing mentioned and makes me the happiest.

*Comment:  LaMark can't catch  Analysis:  Like, at all.  I don't know if this means he is destined for LB, but reports are he is just awful at catching.  They say he could easily be the best receiver on the team if not for this fact.  His speed, separation and size were all lauded.

*Comment:  Brooks Rossman is a douche  Analysis:  Never takes the trash out, always finding ways to cheat at drinking games, often pops his collar, general tool.

*Comment:  Leon Patton should not be the starter Analysis:  Thomas is the O-line's choice.  Although this is hit and miss.  Previous O-line's raved about Sproles, but also had an early hard on for Parrish Fisher.

*Comment:  Tight Ends are good  Analysis:  Did not pry, but this makes me hopeful for Cuba more than Mass-turd.  Hard to figure/interpret.

*Comment:  Snyder started losing players because he was too distant  Analysis:  Players have a good relationship with Prince.  This is good.  They are buying in.  Everyone to a person  believes they are going to be good enough to go to a bowl game.  They are level headed about it (no "we are winning a National Title" ala Josh Scobey 2001) but they all fault Snyder (again, no doubt a lot of this is Prince charisma) for the down fall by being too distant in his relationships with the players.  No one wanted to play for him (outside recruiting wise, and inside motivation wise) at the end.  They also said it wasn't for lack of effort, because Snyder's 2005-6 practices were widely considered the most insane displays of punishment any had seen.

That's all for now.  Will troll for more as the summer, and our lust for Kansas State Football rumor, fact and inside info, heats up.

excellent update katkid, one question though-

*Comment:  Brooks Rossman is a douche  Analysis:  Never takes the trash out, always finding ways to cheat at drinking games, often pops his collar, general tool.

?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Yet another year of Freeman running for his life just to complete a 5 step drop. And yes, more 3 step drop/quick passes... yeah!

*Comment:  The Defense looks better.  Analysis:  Not hard to do.

The Washburn Rural 2nd team offense would have scored 45 points on the KSU defense last year.

*Comment:  The Secondary is "sick."  Analysis:  Good news and confirms our optimistic predictions.  I think this is by far the most encouraging and concrete thing mentioned and makes me the happiest.

Secondary being sick... presenting #4 Josh Moore.

*Comment:  LaMark can't catch  Analysis:  Like, at all.  I don't know if this means he is destined for LB, but reports are he is just awful at catching.  They say he could easily be the best receiver on the team if not for this fact.  His speed, separation and size were all lauded.

If he doesn't catch more than 25 passes in 2008, he MUST be switched to defense. MUST.

*Comment:  Brooks Rossman is a douche  Analysis:  Never takes the trash out, always finding ways to cheat at drinking games, often pops his collar, general tool.

If it looks like a douche... usually a douche.

*Comment:  Leon Patton should not be the starter Analysis:  Thomas is the O-line's choice.  Although this is hit and miss.  Previous O-line's raved about Sproles, but also had an early hard on for Parrish Fisher.

Time for a 5 receiver set with Freeman back there alone.

*Comment:  Tight Ends are good  Analysis:  Did not pry, but this makes me hopeful for Cuba more than Mass-turd.  Hard to figure/interpret.

I think what was meant is no Tight End is hiding under a bed.

No comment. Snyder is a GOD in my eyes.

Can't we just wrap the o-linemen up in bubble wrap and set them up on the shelf for the summer?

frack, I am so sick of injuries.

They should just build them a sauna room and turn it in to one of those oxygen chambers that T.O. uses.

Couldn't hurt.

This has been a common theme for the last 5 seasons, and has been the main contributing factor in KSU's decline.  Not recruiting, not coaching changes, not QB play.  Bad luck with O-line injuries.  The O-line has not been consistently healthy or had any reliable depth since the 2003 season.

Entirely disagree.  While a common theme, it is not the main factor.  Healthy or not, Malcom Wooldridge, Caleb Handy, John Hafferty, Logan Robinson, Gerard Spexarth, Nick Stringer, Brock unruh, Derek Meyer, Michael Frieson, Ben Lui, and Trevor Viers (to name a few) have sucked.  Flat.  Out.  Sucked.  The problem isn't injuries, it's  a lack of talent.  2001 was injuries.  2004 - current is talent. We've put, what, one OL player in the draft off the line since '03?  Clary?  How many OL have even made All Big 12 1st or 2nd Team?  Bedore? Clary?  We have zero talent (starting talent or depth).  As of yet, Prince has done nothing to really change that.  Bedore is the best lineman and he's a Snyder product.

True, but being sucky and hurt is worse than just being sucky.  But you're right, the suckiness is the main part.  Point zacker.

Ummm, wouldn't a good coach recognize the trend and change something, anything (like using bubble wrap)?

Mabye the combatives/mma course will change that this summer

Yeah, I may have messed up the name on that one (was drinking when collecting info).  The main gist was that Leon Patton should not be starting.

I think he may have been one of the early, "Oh...yeah...I meant GRAY shirt not scholarship..." defectees.  Maybe mixing him up with someone else.

Good move Prince.

Too bad he pulled the same move with the o-lineman from Colorado.  A position of need with a high schooler that is willing to come to K-State and is actually worthy of a D1 scholarship, and Prince says "By the way, you have to pay your way through the first semester" two weeks before signing day.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

A common misconception is that a receiver has to catch every pass he is thrown to be awesome.

Having said that, I don't believe the original post to be entirely factual. No way on earth does someone from planet earth believe Leon shouldn't be the starter.

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

    Knows What Brent Did...
My sources from both "front lines" say the following:

*Comment: O-line has a rash of injury problems.  Analysis: Not a surprise given the rabid elephant men-beasts we recruited for our D-line. The o-line is just getting mangled facing them every day. Blocking Daniel Calvin at the line of scrimmage is like standing at the bottom of a hill and trying to stop a runaway dump truck with a sickle bar fender. I'm amazed no one has lost a finger and/or died. This is a good sign for overall toughness.

*Comment:  The Defense looks better.  Analysis:  nuff said. Sexiest defense since Coop graduated.

*Comment:  The Secondary is "sick."  Analysis:  Good news and confirms our optimistic predictions.  I think this is by far the most encouraging and concrete thing mentioned and makes me the happiest.  AGREED

*Comment:  LaMark can't catch  Analysis:  See above. NO CAN CATCH ON OUR SICK-ASS SECONDARY

*Comment:  Brooks Rossman is a douche  Analysis:  Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

*Comment:  Leon Patton should not be the starter Analysis:  Patton will start the first few games before Thomas overtakes him.

SIDE NOTE: Keithen Valentine will continue to be our most adorable RB.

*Comment:  Tight Ends are good  Analysis:  I do not believe this and it discredits the rest of the report.

*Comment:  Snyder started losing players because he was too distant  Analysis:  HERESY. This is easily disproved. Snyder landed Chris Harper for us until you jokers blew it

I would also add that I am amazed that we have 15/18 JUCO recruits on campus.
“My arm gets tired from doing this,” said coach Bill Snyder, waving his arm.
