    The very best.
I actually saw him @ dara's (kimball) during finals week @ 5:30 AM. I was buying chex mix, he was just paying for gas. We were getting in line, when we both realized we arrived at the same time.

He deferred to me.

I wanted to say something, but I didn't say something. I left not saying anything.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

That is definitely a brush with greatness.  Do you regret not saying anything?

Jeff is a friend of mine... He's truly a great person and a terrific friend and influence on a lot of peoples lives. Hopefully this will be cleared up just fine.

Yeah he does live here, for around a year now. He did some work for KMAN last year if you recall on gamedays.

I remember hearing him but I guess I just assumed he came in for the games and they talked to him or something.  What his his "training" gig?  Like, rehab or working out or what?

He does some various workouts for different teams / groups around the area. He's officially retired from the NFL. He did all the strength and conditioning for a local college baseball team the last couple seasons, as well.

    Fear the Brick
Circa the fall of '98, Jeff Kelly once threatened to beat up my friend.  Mind you, my friend deserved it, Jeff was being friendly/nice, my friend was being drunk/stupid.  So, I told my friend that if he didn't shut up,  I was going to watch as Kelly did it and then when I had to take him (my friend) to the hospital, I was going to tell the police that I saw 3 white guys beating him up.  Friends are friends, but the DOD is the DOD.

No doubt, probably my personal fav of the LBs

He sealed that first Nebraska "W" with an INT return for a TD, correct?

Yep.

I thought it was a fumble

Kelle is the niece of a good friend by the same last name.  The fam wasn't really all that crazy about the matchup I'd guess, he never mentioned it until after the marital demise.  Of course all nubbs are rednex to a large degree.

I got his autograph when I was like in 1st grade at the old Mesquite BBQ place by Motel 6. He signed it with green crayon on the back of a children's menu. Helluva guy.

Jeff Kelly lives in my neighborhood, he used to at least.  He had a garage sale a year or two ago, that my wife went to, and she bought several movie from him, mostly Adam Sandler movies.

My wife comes back and tells me Jeff Kelly is having a garage sale, so I run over there to see if I can't get an autograph.  As I walk up to the sale the only people there are Jeff and some guy who is acting as his shill.  The shill holds up a pair of khaki pants with a emroidered powercat on them and says "how much for these pants"  Jeff says "Oh, those won't fit you, those are Bill Snyder's pants."  For a split second I thought, "holy crap, I'm going to buy Bill Snyder's pants!"  Then I quickly realize how unlikely it is that Jeff Kelly would somehow come into possession of Bill Snyder's pants, and I figure out I've been set up.  I look around for a minute and leave without asking for an autograph, because I don't really collect them anyway.

Later, my wife sold those movies on Ebay, and advertised them as being formerly in the possession of Jeff Kelly.  They didn't bring as much premium as you would have thought.

Agree.  This news is disappointing.  I got to meet him once when he was giving a teen anti-violence address at my high school.  He was one of the nicest guys I'd ever met.  This news really surprises me; but then again, the womens have a way of bringing out the worst in guys sometimes.
