Azcat, you're a snark, aren't you?  Nobody could possibly have their head this far up their own ass.

I could push that particular button and sleep very well at night.

When the Democrats finally get around to cleaning this mess up, Bush will say "see I told you it was a good idea."

Heh.  And when Iran nukes Israel on Obama's watch thereby launching WW-III you libs be sure to take a bow for the success of your policies.

Doesn't Israel have their own nuclear deterrent?  It is really ridiculous to assume that they wouldn't act before that point anyway.  They are our puppets, but they are still a sovereign nation for Christ sakes.  If they get nuked, it really is a hell of a lot more of their business than ours.

Are nuclear weapons really a deterrent to someone who believes: that his version of Jesus lives in the bottom of a well in a town in rural Iran; that said Jesus will emerge only when the world is plunged into war and chaos; and that it is his religious duty to help bring about such war & chaos so that said version of Jesus will deem it time to come forth from said well?

Call me crazy but I'm thinking that this thing is pretty much on rails at this point.

Iran can now thank the US and the Bush Doctrine for pissing all over the UN charter and encouraging "preventative aggression." We set an amazing precedent for India and Pakistan. The Bush Doctrine has hurt world security more than any perceived weakness could.

I really don't care about the iraqi people; I care more about the 4K soldiers that have died in Iraq and how an absolute lie brought their death.  I think about maybe if they were all in afghanistan that maybe less of them would have died and more actual terrorists would have been killed.  I think about how the billions of dollars spent in Iraq might have been cut in half if we had just focused on afghanistan and maybe the money that we didn't have to spend in Iraq could have been reinvested into our economy in some manner instead of into a futile effort in Iraq.  But not for a second do I think about the iraqis.

there's like 6 billion people in the world and we make more all the time.  we aren't going to have a shortage of morons that need pretend jobs anytime soon.  and 4k is like nothing anyways.

forget the soldiers.  dime a dozen.  cry for the tragic waste of money.  beautiful, precious national wealth gone forever.
I'm with sys.  We are spending billions of dollars to make Bush's cronies very, very wealthy, and the majority of Americans are not benefiting from this at all.  In fact, we are suffering.

Thank goodness for our freedoms we are protecting over there!

The fact that you believe the propoganda and call it a "war on terrorism" explains your IQ.

You can't bomb an idea.  You kill a "terrorist," and his children become the next generation of "terrorists."

The only way to truly win a "war on terror" is to find out WHY there are disagreements.

(I'll help you out.  This is where you say something like "THOSE MONSTERS DON'T WANT TO TALK!!#!%@^ GWBUSH!")

We could bomb the crap out of terrorists but Saudi Arabia has this country by the balls, and that's where all the "bad dudes" hang out and set up shop.  They were never in Iraq.  Iraq had no connection with 9/11 (proven several times).

God.... I hate the Middle East.  I wish it was gone forever.  If it didn't have oil, it would be a total waste of space on the map.  Even The Sudan has more use than the Middle East.
Agree.

It's time to play "Trivia Questions You Probably Can't Answer Without the Internet if You'r Under 30":

1. Which nation invaded kuwait in 1990?
2. Which nation invaded Iran in 1980?
3. Who was the president of the aggressor nation in each case?
4. True or false: The United Nations authorized military action against the aggressor nation referred to in question 1.
5. Cite the document that formally, permanently, and unconditionally ended the military action against the aggressor nation referred to in question 1.

Run along to Wikipedia and search desperately for the answers, we'll wait right here.   :billypopcorn:

You're right fudging a Presidential record by 1.5 terms (and reanimation to boot!) is a minor detail.

The problem with the war in Iraq/war in general in the 20th century is that the world is too puss/PC.

Now that the world economies are intertwined if some bullcrap group of nations don't like what we're doing for whatever reason they can get together (EU) and put serious pressure on our economy.

If this were 1918-1940 we'd have carpetbomed/firebomed Falluja, Basra, and baghdad, killing tens of thousands but we'd fracking own Iraq and it's oil.

war between first world countries has been economically nonviable since about 1870.  it has a lot more to do with weapons tech. than pcifcation of attitudes (although, to an extent they go hand in hand).

It is more so today than ever before.  There were plenty of isolated wars before WWI/II that everyone else stayed out of bc it didn't matter to them.  Kind of like Africa now.  no one gives a crap about africa.

and the Bush doctrine has set up the world for a major crap storm.  As soon as we leave I bet Iran invades Iraq, esp if the Sunni's are in control.

See, cire you're pretty smart but you are confused on this issue.  Our puppet government in Iraq is aligned with Iran.  As soon as we leave, the civil war will spill over into Iran and eventually they'll blow themselves up.

Anyway I got a round of golf to play in the morning.  I'm gonna play a round in honor of the troops.
