The class is exactly what we thought it was going to be.  With 'Sprilla this class should be considered a success.  Who knows what happens with the 4th ship.  Could still greatly excede expecations with an elite level late pick-up.  Expectations for '11 are going to be much higher.

i'd almost rather a servicable juco over anything other than a top 50 type for the fourth.

how high can expecations go for the 11s?  williams is already pencilled in, and i'm assuming rodriguez for a 2nd (not getting him would be a mild dissapointment).  i don't think the 3rd 'ship is going to make or break that class.

since you are the bball guru around here. Are you impressed/ok with/pleased/ with what Frank is doing? Obviously he could do better. But just curious what your opinion of him, or the staff, in recruiting is.
I walk out of that tunnel in this building and the passion of our fans, just gets me going. I mean just gives me an adrenaline rush that you guys just don't understand. - Frank Martin

agree w/ both assessments.  Unless Rodriguez somehow blows up (doubtful), '11 will be pretty meh.

not really comfortable with being a guru, too much responsibility.  but i'm pretty happy with their recruiting.  they've made mistakes, obviously, but they've seemed to correct them rapidly (season after).

will say that it would seem to be important to sustain momentum, as mu, and especially isu, are doing decidely better now than a couple years back.

what a hilariously sh*tty recruiting class.

don't frack around in the recruiting thread, maybe you should go check and see if they're still playing vball or fball or tennisball.

face the "music" sys, this class sucks. let at the rest of the phillips 66 conference classes.
I agree with fatty. lol sys, this class really does suck. But owell.

You kind of suck at posting.

This class is not good, but they aren't bad either.  2008 was bad.
Im comparing this class to last years. and yes it sucks. And i didnt realize it takes skill to post.

I did not say that it takes skill to post, only that you suck at it.  Of course this class is not as good as last years, however, it also is not as bad as the year before it.  This places it somewhere in the middle of good and suckage.  As sys said it is ok.

why not hit southwell up with a tweet or a pm to let him know your thoughts?  spradling's a little harder to track down, but if you're gentle he'll probably settle in long enough to listen.

or really, anywhere but here.  the recruiting threads are sacrosanct.

Solid class, especially considering the number of guys we brought in last year.  Getting Southwell late really helped salvage things IMO.  Not a great class, but for a tweener class, hard to complain about.  Land Asprilla and it becomes even better.

We agree on the JUCO thing.  Though I wouldn't shun a Clemente or Kelly type of D1 transfer either.

A lot can happen in a year.  As the season unfolds, I think our brand is going to gain some steam. I expect a better 11 class than 10.  I also expect both Williams and Rodriguez to "blow up" to some degree, though I'm not yet convinced we will sign either...and I don't agree that one player can't make the class.  Even adding Mitchell to this year's class would have changed it drastically from a national perception standpoint.  I'll be pretty disappointed without at least a couple of four star guys in this class.   :users:

it wouldn't surprise me at all if both rodriguez and williams end up as four stars, so i guess i agree w. you more than michigan on them.  i'm just not expecting a five star pf to be added in as the 3rd recruit.

good point on not counting either.  yet.

why would anyone be upset with a recruiting class of a 4-star probable top 10 Juco, a top 150 HS and another 3 star top 150-200 HS?  easily better than the 2006 and 2008 classes put together.

then you have to choose an option - could use the last ship on another top juco (Terrence Boyd??), a true DITR HS'er or roll it over to 2011 where we could get Rodriguez, Williams, a PF and then another guard (Boatright, Cook, more wishful thinking)

oh please. calling spradling a top 150-200 is laughable. and fringe top 150 players usualyl suck, and btw...we play in the phillips 66 conference. we will get mashed when our best player is a top 150 fringer.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

all signs point to asprilla signing here.  sorry if you were expecting a top 20 class, but we haven't done ANYTHING lately to help get one.  i'm sure recruits are pretty meh about the NIT, ya know?

why are you so down on the BB recruiting fatty?  devoting too much of your EMAW to football.  JMeyer said Spradling was very much in the discussion for top 150 in the last rivals rankings.  since when will our best player be a fringe 150?

rodriguez has been the best in his class in pr for the last 2 years.  pr seems to produce about 1 high major "star" per year.  ergo.

williams i'm not quite as convinced.  but from his mhk classic film, i thought he had a chance, especially if he grows a little.

honestly, no one but bossi sees younger kc area recruits, so it isn't like the natl scouts have seen him and deemed him unworthy.

I'm very curious what it is that you base your recruiting "knowledge" on.  How many of these kids have you even seen play?  How many in the last year?  And no, clips on youtube do not count.  If your answer to the previous questions is less than like 10, kindly GTFOOMF with your input, Michiganappleheadcat.  I have a sneaking suspicion that you base all you opinions on personal unhappiness and reports from Scout/Rivals. :crybaby: :nono:
