Re: Hardaway story:

I think it is important to note that we both offered Hardaway AND are showing strong interest. It may just be me, but I get upset with our coaches when they make an offer when they don't have any interest.

"Michigan isn't the only school that is coveting that outstanding versatility. Minnesota and Kansas State have both offered, while Florida, South Carolina, Kansas State, Northwestern and Florida State are showing strong interest.

oladipo doesn't mention ksu.

Quote
"Maryland, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Marquette, Providence, Indiana, Alabama, Xavier, and Pitt have shown interest," Oladipo said. "A lot of other schools are interested, but I can't think of them at the moment.... He is also a teammate of 2011 Pitt target Quinn Cook

meyer still stubbornly refusing to list mitchell.  he'll cave, eventually.  just a test of wills at this point.

In the discussion. Didn't get reports that would cause me to rank them. Need to see them myself.

I really don't see it with Mitchell.  I could see Spradling.

Khyle Marshall SF (6-6, 200)
2010, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. / Flanagan (Florida Rams)

Marshall was in full attack mode on every catch. He has a great motor and is aggressive on both ends of the floor. He competes for rebounds and is very quick to the ball. Marshall runs the floor in transition and is an above the rim finisher in traffic. This wiry strong lefty can also get to the rim with quick first step slashes and can score with athletic moves over or around defenders. Marshall can float and hang in the air and does a good job of drawing fouls. He also loves to attack the basket along the baseline where he extends with his great length to finish with ease. Marshall will use the spin move when he wants to get to the rim from the high post area as well. He has great body control as spins off defenders to score in the middle of the lane. The 3-point shot was also falling today with time and space but his jumper is an area that he must work on to be more consistent. He has the length and athletic ability to defend all three perimeter positions in a switch situation. The young wing is very versatile and will be a treat to watch develop this summer.

Also, Spradling's team (Speice Mo-Kan) won the USSSA midwest festival of teams.  I'm trying to find out what the competition was like and how Will played.  FWIW, Minnesota Pump-n-Run took second and the Harrison Barnesless All-Iowa Attack hosted the tournament.

UPDATE:  actually Spiece mokan beat Minn PnR in the semis and the Minnesota Fury Elite in the finals:

http://www.alliowaattack.com/Docs/USSSAMidwestFestivalofTeams-Results.pdf

The Fury Elite doesn't have a single player listed in Rivals database.  PnR has three but none of them are currently ranked.  The best of which appears to be 6'8" small forward Kevin Noreen with offers from Gonzaga, Boston College, Northern Ill, William and Mary and Wis GB.  They also had a guard with an offer from Drake and a 7ftr with an offer from Santa Clara and Wis GB.  All Iowa Attack must have been a one man team.  They didn't even place in their own tournament.

that dude is a crybaby.   :crybaby:

Suther probably only took his team to that tourney to get a return trip from Harrison Barnes.  He should revoke the invite now...and ask for an apology and reimbursement for going to Iowa.

Khyle Marshall- Continuing the physical theme, Marshall is a clean up the mess/glue type player who will help a team at the next level win games.

Marshall listed offers from Auburn, Butler, Houston, Baylor, Old Dominion, Kansas State, UNC-Wilmington, South Florida and Providence and interest from South Carolina.

In June, I'm going to a lot of camps. Next week I'm going to the Tangos All-American Camp. Then I'll probably go to Missouri then a Texas camp, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, then maybe a Kansas State camp. I'm going to a lot of camps.

Hardaway Jr blurb:

Quote
Tim Hardaway Jr. (6-4, 185, P/SG)
2010, Palmetto, Fla.

Hardaway, who has obvious basketball bloodlines, displayed high-level ballhandling and passing ability at both guard positions. He is an excellent athlete who uses his quickness and length to his advantage. He showed he is a threat from 3 if the defender backs off. He was very good in transition pushing the ball up the floor and is a great finisher at the rim. He had a good feel for using ball screens and also could create off the dribble. He was able to get into the paint for a midrange jump shot and did a nice job drawing the defense and kicking out to an open teammate. Defensively, he is a smart, fundamentally sound player who understands angles and has above-average lateral quickness. He still has upside and is developing some point guard skills. As his body continues to mature, Hardaway should blossom into an excellent college player.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=4206100

...and this on Kyrie Irving:

Quote
Kyrie Irving Pt/G (6-2, 175) 2010, Elizabeth, N.J., St. Patrick's

There is no question that Irving is an elite point guard with his advanced skill, confidence and high basketball I.Q. He runs a team with poise, excellent peripheral vision and an ability to score at anytime from anywhere on the floor. His range was out beyond the arc on a consistent basis; his shot selection from behind the arc also was good. His middle game is superb; he pulls up on a dime and scores with ease before the help defender gets close. Equally impressive, on his drive to the basket he knows how to -- and when to -- change speeds and score at the rim with good body control. He exhibits a beautiful retreat, cross-over attack dribble to create space when he see's the double-team running at him or when his defender is really applying strong ball pressure. On his penetration, Irving demonstrates the ability to read defenses, see the assist and deliver the correct pass on time and on target. In the transition game, when Irving receives the outlet pass, he has his eyes and head up as he looks to throw ahead or push the ball with the speed dribble. When playing off the ball and being overplayed, he sets his man up and back cuts to rim. Knowing the importance of getting open, he runs off screens and works to free himself for a score. He needs to get stronger because when he did get trapped he struggled. Still, Irving is one of the most dangerous guards in the nation. He can create for himself, create for his teammates and still is a student of the game.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/basketball/mens/news/story?id=4206546

BTW, Hardaway made the ESPN top 100.   :woot:
