Heard Steve Carver's dad went to k-state and he is dead set to come to k-state, so he would be a walk-on

he should go to cornell.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

he should go to cornell.

i'll take as many walkons as they can fit chairs on the bench, especially if it's a kid that could get a scholly at another D1 program.  besides, kansas kids should have pride in being able to represent their home state.  good for future generations of carvers and their relatives and their relationship with KSU.

What chance does a kid from a small school have of making it a KSU or ku?
My wife's cousin (Carson Konrade 6'3" off guard) is near the top of the list in scoring in the state.

Player, team                     G TP AV.
Chase Dippel, Smoky Valley 3 93 31.0
Taner Hayes, Attica           5 148 29.6
Bryce Mayes, Oxford          3 85 28.3
Carson Konrade, Spearville   5 140 28.0

But he plays at a 2a school.  He is not their only scorer, they have two others averaging 19.

Thoughts?  They also have a 6'9" freshman that played point last year in 8th grade, could develop nice.

Is he a senior?  If not, he is gonna have to get noticed on the AAU circuit.  Not the only way, but it would help.  Otherwise, he will need to put together some highlight videos that showcase his skills and send them out to coaches.

I destroyed the whole Konrade family in sports.  I'm sure this one sucks too.  Also, Spearville FTL

I would bet good money he could mop the floor with you!!! Where did you play???

His dad claims ku has contacted him, but I doubt they are really interested.

 :eyeseeyou:

long time, no see, yosh.  some guy in gpc linked a 1-6-09 peoria newspaper note that mentioned a ksu offer to simms-edwards.  no way to know if the offer was current, though, so i declined to muck up the 2009 recruiting thread with it.  since the '10 is already trashed, i'll go ahead and stick it here.

Been pretty busy, lurking, just not posting.  I'm working on something though...  :peek:

Interesting on Simms-Edwards, though I doubt it's current info.  I do think he was probably a back-up plan to Russell.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

If he can hit the runner like that, he can be a star.

I am beginning to really like the Martin recruits.  :woohoo:
