agree with yosh and trey. southwell thinks he wants to run point (all players do, i guarantee even colon thinks he's a misunderstood 1), but it will be made obvious to him in practice that his ball handling isn't strong enough to bring the ball up the court full time in the big 12.
everyone says he has above average vision, and if true, i'm sure martin won't hesitate to use him in a point forward role. he'll eventually be happy to be used as hoskins and wright often were, as the initiators of offense in half court sets.
and i'm sure he'll get to bring the ball up some of time. hell, martin often had brown running point when sitting clemente and pullen. and wright brought the ball up plenty for huggins, whenever there was smaller, quick defender that wanted to pressure stewart and wright had a slower guy not suited to defending the ball the length of the court.
