I had a great reuben yesterday at a place in kure Beach, NC.  The Pier House, which is right next to the kure Beach Pier.  Also, for a great upscale meal, try Freddies right next door, only open for Dinner though.

Good, homecooked kraut is wonderful.  The canned stuff is nowhere near like it.

Nothing beats Corned Beef
tongue.

A few years back, a friend and I were at one of the taco trailers in Dodge City needing drunk food at 2:30 a.m.  He knew they sold tongue tacos and wanted one, but everything was in spanish.  After a half-minute or so of him saying "tongue" in english to no avail, he resorted to holding his tongue in one hand and pointing at it with the other.  It worked.  Pretty good tacos too.

Philly Cheese steaks are the best.  But if you order one in Philly make sure to just call it a Cheese Steak because you're already in Philly duh.

Is it like in Chicago where they won't put ketchup on your hot dog?

Ketchup on a hot dog is just wrong, imo.

Mustard, mustard and more mustard !

I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

I will have to check that out next time I'm there.  As far as Manhattan sands: Rockabelly always had a pretty good Reuben and Porters' wasn't bad.
