It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    The very best.
our nationally-televised games, including a pair of regular season contests on ABC Sports for the first time in school history, highlight the 30-game 2006-07 Kansas State men’s basketball schedule released by athletic department officials on Wednesday.

In addition, the Wildcats have been selected to appear twice on the ESPN ''Big Monday'' slate with games in Bramlage Coliseum against Texas Tech and Kansas

They block a university website, but not a random message board?

Amazing.

Wow, I knew our schedule would be tough, but not this challenging.  I was going to go to both Xavier and A&M but now I think I'll just go to College Station since they're that close together.

Great thread. That was back in the day when the majority of KSU fans did not wany huggs.

The students are going to be gone for these games.  Let's hope we can still draw the crowds.

Sat, Nov 25     Coppin State    Manhattan, Kan.      TBA

   Las Vegas Holiday Classic
Sun, Dec 17     Kennesaw (Ga.) State    Manhattan, Kan.      TBA
Tue, Dec 19     Maryland-Eastern Shore    Manhattan, Kan.      TBA

Tue, Dec 28     Home game against BIG NAME OPPONENT
Mon, Jan 08     Texas Tech    Manhattan, Kan.      9 p.m.       ESPN (Classes begin on Thursday so a lot of students should be back, and it's Bob Knight...on Big Monday, I'm not too worried about this one)

I absolutely love Holiday games. Small student crowd, but usually very rowdy.

KSU will not consider Huggins at all.

You don't know.

Yes I do.   We will not hire a coach with an image problem.   You're just fooling yourselves if you think he will be considered.

Those were such frustrating days back then. Getting people on the Huggs bandwagon was tough.

In MJ's defense, who here wasn't absolutely shocked that we went after Huggins?  A lot of us thought that we should have.  Yet who truly thought that we would have?

It was pretty obvious from day one that Huggs was our #1 target.

People were just trying not to set us up for a big fall.

Hey, it took me a while, but I came fatty.  I'm "all in" for Huggs now.

The only "complaint" is I wish we would've been able to pull in one big name OOC opponent for our OOC.  Too bad we were a bit hamstrung with some of the games we had to fulfill.

It'll be cool to play Coppin State again.  Fang Mitchell was always fun as their coach.  I remember back in the mid 90s when the benches were on the other side from the students like they will be again, Coppin State had a player foul out and he sat down and kept pointing at his crotch and flipping off the students before finally getting a T.  I'm also not a big fan of playing an OOC game in the middle of the conference slate, especially Chicago State, but I'm sure we'll be able to use the cash from the game.  The road/neutral slate should give us plenty of tests and get us ready for Big 12 play.  Should be a fun season, I'm ready to get started now.

Fan, I would go to sleep praying the next day you would be on the Huggs bandwagon. You are like Leland, once we got you....every KSU fan would follow.

It's clear now.  Back then, no one had a clue.

It'll be cool to play Coppin State again.

There were NBA scouts from two or three teams when Terquin Mott came into town.  I remember yelling, "you ain't in the NBA yet, Mott," after he was called for traveling.  He laughed.

Wrong. Everyone knew we were going after Huggins a few days into the search. However, People didn't know his interest in us.

Fitz kept saying this isn't like the Venebles thing. That we would consider Huggs. Kietz confirmed. Both also said we would touch Venebles during the football search.

If you consider Fitz and Keitz to be good sources, we're just not going to agree.  Especially since we had no reason to have any confidence in Weiser.
