ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office - he DID NOT use the Holy Bible, but instead the kuran (Their equevelancy to our Bible, but very different beliefs)
As a Christian, I'd almost prefer that he swears in on the Qu'ran instead of the Bible. It would be meaningless to swear in on a Bible as a Muslim, just as it would be meaningless to me swearing in on a Qu'ran as a Christian.

He's Christian.
well then if he will keep his word swearing in on the qu'ran and it means something to him, who cares? nixon, and clinton both swore in on bibles, see how that turned out (not taking anything awawy from their presidencies, they were both great presidents imho)

You should really try to read things that aren't on the internet.  You seem really confused.

this thread illustrates well the fatal flaw of democracy.  the majority of people are just too stupid to pick their own government.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

I'm just waiting for Obama to tell us how he plans to provide hope and change.

He's waiting to see if he wins the nomination before he worries about that.

In other words he's banking on liberals, particularly young liberals, being utterly vapid and ignorant.  Check.

I think he feels he can get through the primary season with a vague message of hope and dreams.  There's just not enough to differentiate Hillary and Barack on the issues... it's a personality contest.  Issues will come more into focus during the general election.

I'm hoping to drum up enough support among the vapid, ignorant sheeple that make up the Democratic voters in my precinct to get him some delegates in the upcoming caucus.   :beerchug:

If you really want to go with the youth movement why not back a candidate with some actual substance.  It's not too early to get on the Jindal '12 bandwagon!   :ksu:

LOL!

I would consider voting for Jindal, but you would never actually consider voting for a democrat.  That means you are the partisan hack, turd face.

Badass is being tossed around here, like a Stacey Dean recruiting article. I think lp9fan nailed it when he said I'm badass, fwiw.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

Basically this thread represents what is wrong with Kansas in general.  Please read the following you tards: http://books.google.com/books?id=AJKrMcOyQ3wC&dq=what%27s+the+matter+with+kansas&pg=PP1&ots=AEtUDCWnse&sig=ovm4Sxd9y_NjeRrVE1gLYDW2Yeg&hl=en&prev=http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7GGLJ&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=what%27s+the+matter+with+kansas&spell=1&oi=print&ct=title&cad=one-book-with-thumbnail

I work in politics/government and the ignorance of this whole thread makes me want to cry.

That book proves little beyond the utter inability of the American political left to cope with reality.

If by reality you mean a state, and ultimately a region, voting against their inherent self interest then maybe you are right.  I would love to hear your experience and qualifications for your opinions other than listening to right wing radio talkshow hosts/Faux News commentators

I love the fact that you cite a left-wing spinmeister and demand that no right-wing spin enter into the subsequent discussion.   :hahano: :blank:

I read that book, and it's interesting.  That guy went to my high school which explains a lot (like why he talks like an uppity douchebag.)  He moved to Chicago where things are a bit more progressive I guess.  It is an interesting study in the human zoo/fairtytaleland of Johnson County.

Actually Jack Cashel (a Kansas Citian) wrote a book called "What's the Matter with California" to talk about how liberal policies are "ruining" California.

Most everyone I ran into when I spent a summer in BC & Alberta really wanted their province to be the 51st state.  They didn't want to pay for their own medical care but otherwise saw absolutely nothing redeeming about their national government as compared to the US.  Biggest complaints: taxes are too high and there are too many regulations.
