There's a new sheriff in town.
This morning’s gathering lacked the fanfare of past events at Forbes in which hundreds of fans said "goodbye" to the ku basketball team as it left to play in NCAA Tournament games. Unlike the basketball send-offs, there was no band and no need today to rope off the area in which the players walked through the terminal.

Seriously?

Your team went 5-7 and has Ron Prince as head coach.

Were you in line to send them off?

    The very best.
Pathetic. They are a total one-year wonder with this fanbase. bmw, not picking on you but your fellow hawk fans.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Honestly though... should we have been expecting thousands of Kansas fans to rush out to Forbes Field to watch the football team board an airplane?

It should have been comparable to NCAA tourney time + 100-150.

Why not? For the MBB team the band and cheerleaders are there. Sad lack of support.

I appreciate your level of concern.  If I were a K-State fan, and my team had just gone 5-7, while Kansas went 11-1 and was on their way to the Orange Bowl with the National Coach of the Year, I'd probably be grasping at straws also.  You guys just can't handle the reality that Kansas football has finally turned the corner.

But do you really think that ku will go to another BCS Bowl in the next 5, 10 years?? Going to a BCS Game is a once in a lifetime experience.
csourk is the best pre-college poster on this board.  way better than oxlp956

It's pretty obvious there were more KSU fans watching ku fans watching their team go to the Orange bowl.

How pathetic is that?

And to think....you were two lucky tipped pass catches away from losing to that horrible 5-7 team.

There was at least half that amount at the KSU football complex after the Tejas win this year. And that doesn't count the 15 or so band members that were there. Yeah it was chilly, and we were all hammered, but it was a helluva good time.

I love how you guys conveniently forget about Texas A&M.  They've beaten Texas (your signature win) two years in a row.

My bad I'll give you that one.  And the Chippewa powerhouse of 8-6.  Corner turned.  End of story.

Mark Mangino is 0-15 vs big 12 teams with an above .500 record.

Switch Texas and Texas A&M, and Kansas and K-State played virtually the same conference schedule.  For years you people have been claiming that the Big 12 was a big-time football conference.  Now that you're in the bottom and Kansas is at the top, you're trying to convince yourselves that Kansas was simply a product of the schedule.  Forget about the fact that Oklahoma couldn't win in Boulder, or Texas couldn't win in College Station.  Forget about the fact that K-State got torched by Nebraska to the tune of 72 points.  The same Nebraska team that Kansas put 76 on.

Nope.  Kansas shouldn't get any credit for going 11-1, being top 10, and in the Orange Bowl.  I'm sure if K-State were in the same scenario you guys would be extremely disappointed.

I realize that.  That's fine because next year when Kansas runs up the score on K-State you'll understand just how far your program has fallen.

I knew you guys were an ag school, but I didn't realize it was that bad.

30-24 = 6

....and it should have been more.
