Also, it seem a lot of the positive momentum Prince has gained since the end of this debacle of a season has been negated.  I suppose that goes without saying.

So Harper is gone after six days.  This kid committing to one freaking assistant coach is beyond &@#%ed up.  Was James Franklin seriously the only reason why he committed to KSU?   I mean, you wait months and months to make a "well-thought out decision" and have a press conference to announce it and it all comes down to picking one assistant coach?  Wow.  One coach or player is so minute in the realm of an entire program.

KSU athletics is becoming really gay to follow.

Perhaps if the Wildcat staff, and Wildcat fans, would have spent more time licking Brian Butler's balls...Harper would still be good with us.

Or, maybe not.

God shutup. All his 5 choices were very close, and franklin was what KSU on top. Now w/o franklin, our big positive is gone.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

MB committed to a guy that has helped guide him through half his life and MB was only going to play college ball one year and knew Hill would be at his school for the one year.  Harper committed to an assistant coach he built a relationship with for about a year and committed to him knowing there was a good possibility Franklin could move to another program for a better job any time during his four or five years of college ball if he knows a lick about how the college football coaching business works.  No assistant coach who is any good at what he does stays where they are for more than 2-4 years.  Much different situation.

Well, I thought it sounded like playing for the in-state program he grew up watching and rooting for had something to do with it also, but I guess not.  He wanted to play for James Franklin.

Blame Prince for being a sh1tty recruiter. Not Chris. Maybe he's pissed that Prince has known about this since the fresno game and completely lied to him.

Come on FFF, I hope he honestly didn't think that Franklin would be here his whole career.  Any good offensive coordinator is going to move on and keep moving up the ladder, it's just common sense.  Disappointing decision, I mean you don't have a big huge press conference, make a huge deal about it and then decommit 6 days later, that is really bad, coach leaving or not.

Good luck to him, he'll make a great WR or Safety for someone.

If Franklin recruited the kid, shouldn't he be upset that he didn't tell him he was leaving?  Why would he be upset at Prince?

What the hell man, Franklin had his contract reworked to stay at Kansas State last week, then Maryland came in and offered a ridiculous amount of money for a average offensive coordinator and a good recruiter.  We cannot pay head coach money to a coordinator.  This just happened this week.  Like I said, Franklin was going to leave sometime during Harper's career if he did a somewhat decent job, but this has nothing to do with Prince lying to him.  Most believed he would stay this year, hints the reworking of the contract.  Prince did not lie to him, I know you hate the guy but this has nothing to do with ron

I think that's all total horsesh1t. Franklin was going to leave the minute he landed harper. I don't hate Prince, I've constantly praised his record his 1st two seasons.

Alright, I guess it's your choice to believe what you want.  I believe that his contract was reworked to keep him from going to A&M.  If prince knew that Franklin was going to leave all along, then obviously he would have had Brock go out and build a relationship with Harper as well, so he would still feel comfortable, sinc it's obvious that if Franklin did leave Brock had a good chance to get the job, I know we recruit by regions but I believe Ron would do this.  Who knows, maybe he still ends up here

I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Harper would be a f*cking moron not to go to Illinois.

And big time LOL at Prince.  Now we're stuck with Dave f*cking Brock as the OC?  And if it isn't Brock it will be some other fracking nobody from some fracking worthless scrub school.  Each time I wonder if our program can get any sh*ttier, it does.

reopened his recruitment.

It's times like this that it really blows to be a stepping stone program in all major sports.

God, K-State athletics is a joke.

Why doesn't Prince just hire Al Borges this week so Al can sell what he did with Jason Campbell(now a starting NFL QB) during Auburn's undefeated 2004 season?  If that doesn't haul Harper back in, at least we'd have an experienced D1 OC.  I'm way more worried about having an experienced proven OC than I am about signing Harper.

The horse sh*t spin job by GP and their sources alledging Franklin has been named head coach designate and he'll be paid a "head coach salary" is pretty comical.

What's more comical is that people actually drink this crap up.
