What's a cheap place for quotes?  I keep gettin these ridiculously high quotes b/c I am under 25 and a guy.  No wrecks, tickets or anything on the record.  And the quotes have been between 900-1000 6 mo. premium.   :yuck:

Any suggestions??

Go with someone like statefarm, farmers, all state, etc.  Do you own the car or is there a lien on it?  If there is no lien i'd suggest going liability only until you turn 25.  Everyone will be pretty high since you are under 25 and a guy.

Spend a couple years in the military, then you can use USAA.  They blow everyone out of the water for prices and customer service.

Buy a beater and carry liability only until you turn 25.  Take the money saved and put it away for a nicer car when you hit 25.

And if you eventually buy a house, look at getting auto insurance through the same company as your home owners ins. is through.

I think anyone can get USAA now can't they?  There is more to insurance than just price, that is for sure.  Do you care about aftermarket parts on your car if it is in a wreck?  Customer service isn't such a big thing anymore with Direct Repair shops, the service is actually from the shop and not so much the insurance company.  In all acutallity after State Farm they are all pretty much just as good as each other.  I work for a bodyshop and deal with insurance comapnies every day so if you have any questions about any of them fire away and I will be happy to help!

USAA is still restricted.  That's why we can get such good deals.
Who is Eligible?
    * Children of USAA members.
    * Active-duty officers and enlisted personnel.
    * National Guard and Selected Reserve officers and enlisted personnel.
    * Recently retired or separated military personnel.

By customer service with USAA, I'm referring more toward the overall company.  I have a lot more dealings with them through financial planning, mortgages, and life insurance than I do vehicles.  I do like the direct repair shops, but lately, the shop here in Salina that deals with it (Crossroads Collision  :yuck:) has not been able to deliver on their promise-dates as they used to.

Crossroads used to be a good shop from what I have heard.  The USAA shop here is pretty undesirealbe though.  We do a lot of USAA work even though we aren't on thier DRP list as of now.

Some plans don't cover certain accidents that others do.  For instance, unless you ask for it to be, hitting a deer may not be covered.
