I used to be huge into the kettle chip scene, starting with Art & Mary's brand out of Wichita. They make a spicy hot chip that used to be my #1 for a good period of time. Then I moved into Krunchers Jalapeno, I think I ate a bag when I was sick once and they were evicted from my friends list. Sure over the years I've waivered back and forth, to and fro, from a traditional Lay's type of lighter chip, back to kettle, lighter, kettle, lighter, kettle. Now I'm currently going with the light chip structure. I know it sounds crazy but I feel like I can taste the greese better with the light chip than then kettle variety.
Having said that, KatKid mentioned Cheez-Its. As pointed out by MJ, those are snack crackers, and while very enjoyable, they certainly don't fit into this thread as they aren't chips.
1) Original Doritos - can't dethrown the oldschool champs.
2) Munchos (very underrated imo).
3) Garden Salsa Sun Chips - a rookie of the year candidate that surprised me
4) Lays Salt & Vinegar

We have #3 in our vending machine at work, very good compliment to the hot pocket.
I had my first experience with #3 this summer in Norman, Oklahoma in one of those Subway/Gas Stations. I was grabbing a Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sub and $35 worth of high octane gasoline, the Subway had #3 as an option and I took a chance. I like them. I doubt they last long in my top 3 but I'm going to let them enjoy the ride while it lasts.
Let's take a minute to review some chips which I think are completely over-rated-
1) Fritos - this chip can't do a damn thing on its own. Sure who doesn't like the Frito brand bean dip they make, or Frito's and chili, but Frito's on their own? Seriously? LMAO.
i do like this one kind...aged white cheddar (cant remember name)
Dude are you referring to Pirate's Booty?

It says "aged white cheddar" on it.
