Sea salt and malt vinegar chips very underrated, IMO.  Makes my mouth water just thinking about them...

    The "other" KSU
ANY kettle style (the real crunchy ones) that have the word "Jalepeno" associated with them. Preferrably Uncle Zaps from New Orleans.

There is a brand in WV called Snyders which have BBQ rib flavor - INCREDIBLE.

I cannot resist the salt and vinegar though, once i start eating them, I dont stop until there is a hole rotted through my cheek. I wish they would stop putting meth in those DAMNED salt and vinegar chips!  :lick:

I used to be huge into the kettle chip scene, starting with Art & Mary's brand out of Wichita.  They make a spicy hot chip that used to be my #1 for a good period of time.  Then I moved into Krunchers Jalapeno, I think I ate a bag when I was sick once and they were evicted from my friends list.  Sure over the years I've waivered back and forth, to and fro, from a traditional Lay's type of lighter chip, back to kettle, lighter, kettle, lighter, kettle.  Now I'm currently going with the light chip structure.  I know it sounds crazy but I feel like I can taste the greese better with the light chip than then kettle variety.

Having said that, KatKid mentioned Cheez-Its.  As pointed out by MJ, those are snack crackers, and while very enjoyable, they certainly don't fit into this thread as they aren't chips.

I had my first experience with #3 this summer in Norman, Oklahoma in one of those Subway/Gas Stations.  I was grabbing a Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki sub and $35 worth of high octane gasoline, the Subway had #3 as an option and I took a chance.  I like them.  I doubt they last long in my top 3 but I'm going to let them enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Let's take a minute to review some chips which I think are completely over-rated-
1) Fritos - this chip can't do a damn thing on its own.  Sure who doesn't like the Frito brand bean dip they make, or Frito's and chili, but Frito's on their own?  Seriously? LMAO.

i do like this one kind...aged white cheddar (cant remember name)
Dude are you referring to Pirate's Booty?
It says "aged white cheddar" on it.

even though i don't evaluate chips, i was going to complement you on going with a top 3 list.  it would have been perfect, since a "favorite" thread is too simple and doesn't allow for nuanced expression of chip thoughts.  on the other hand, no one cares about someone else's 4th and 5th favorite chips.

but then i saw that you listed 4.  you ruined your own thread.

ENGL 525. Women in Literature.  Now that I think about it I believe it was an intersession class.  Me, another dude, and Canty were the only guys in the class, the rest were men haters.  Canty had big headphones and listented to music and ate Funyuns everyday + sleep.

Yes I liked those too-
Quote
Tato Skins are a variety of thick, dark, seasoned potato chip-like snacks available in several flavors (such as baked potato or cheddar and bacon). Manufactured from their inception (around 1987) by Wabash Foods in Bluffton, Indiana, they were once marketed by Keebler but at some point changed hands to Poore Brothers, which now also markets them as "T.G.I. Friday's Potato Skins Snack Chips".

They are similar to Pringles chips in that they are made from dehydrated potatoes and have a single shape.

Each chip has a light-colored side (the inside of the potato) and a dark-colored side (the skin).
