Prince is proving that the Snyder schedule apologists were full of crap.

Thanks for the quality scheduling, Ron!

Yes he is.  Remember the whole "good teams won't play in Manhattan" argument?  Prince has Louisville, UCLA, and Miami of Florida coming to Manhattan over the next 6 years, therefore he is proving that argument to be false.

That's two teams (UCLA and UM) that I've always wanted to see in Manhattan.  Prince just confirmed my season ticket for the forseeable future (not that it was in doubt).

Next up I want to see Georgia Tech, Penn State or Alabama.

I admit for awhile that I bought the whole "nobody will come to Manhattan" bit ... but then USC said they'd come to Manhattan and I didn't buy it anymore, and I was ticked about who we may have missed out on seeing play at KSU.

Probably a bit different when your talking about top teams playing a crappy K-State team in Manhattan as opposed to one that wins 11 games a year on a yearly basis.

Yeah ... because in 1994, everybody knew Bishop and company would be playing for KSU in 1997 and 1998.

Just like we all know now for sure, in 4 years KSU is going to suck.

Just like everybody knew in 1989 Bill Snyder would take KSU to 11 straight bowl games.

 :rolleyes:  :rolleyes:  :rolleyes:

Ahh..did it hurt your feelings when people made fun of our OOC schedule?
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

People who whined about Snyder's OOC were the same people who would whine when we would lose by a field goal to top 5 teams, say Snyder was "conservative" because he didn't call 6 flea-flickers in a game, and piss and moan when our QB would call an audible.

Terrible people.

Snyder was a pussy when it came to scheduling.  I didn't like it, but I understand why he did it.

Do you think Prince is stupid for scheduling top programs?

What's funny is KSU's schedule back when we were winning 11 games a year wasn't much different from MOST of the other powers.

Stoops and Mack Brown have had similar schedules. Are they pussies as well?

Horrible examples.  Stoops failed to play a BCS OOC game in 2000.  Every other year they played someone decent - they've played Alabama, Oregon, and UCLA over the last three years - all of which are better than any team BS scheduled but USC.

Brown has played UCLA, Stanford, NC State, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Ohio State.  He has never had a OOC shed. without a BCS school.

Meanwhile, Snyder played 4 BCS OOC games in 11 years from 1995 until he retired.

I'll agree that before 2000. Our schedules were very bad.

But after 2000, we played 4 BCS teams in 6 years, including 2 vs a national power...that wasn't much different than OU and UT.

From 2000-2005 we played
Iowa
USC
@USC
California
Fresno State
@Marshall

OU played
Alabama
@Alabama
UCLA
@UCLA
Oregon

UT Played
Stanford
North Carolina
@North Carolina
Arkansas
@Arkansas
@Ohio State

No big differences here imo. Ours may be a step down, but not that significant.

Of course, who took the heat for "cupcake" scheduling? KSU

If you're going to look at schedules that that way, OU played:

Alabama
@Alabama
UCLA
@UCLA
Oregon
@Air Force (6-6, bowl team)
tcu (11-1, bowl winner)
Tulsa (9-4, bowl winner)
Fresno State (9-5, bowl winner)
South Florida (9-2)
Bowling Green (9-4, bowl winner)

Texas did play a somewhat similar sched over the last 5 years...their schedule appears better because they're playing road games against national powers instead of MAC/WAC teams like Bill.

When we played bad teams, we played really bad ones.

OU played fake bad teams. Seriouisly, S. Fla may have gone 9-3 but there was no way they were going to lose to them.

You think if we played OU or UT's schedule we would have had significantly more loses? I don't.

Yep, they were so bad, we consider a game at 4-7 Marshall a "quality road win".

There really was no excusing some of Snyder's schedules, then again I doubt many on here defending his schedules were paying for, or paying full price for tickets.

You can't call Snyder a pussy, and not say the same for Stoops and Brown. Similar schedules.

I'd easily pay $40 a game to watch an 11-win team destroy opponents.

With Stoops, you have no argument.

With Brown, he scheduled a team coming off a recent MNC and another coming off an SEC West team that considers UT their Super Bowl.

Cal was a decent game, but the Iowa game was much worse than any of Brown's BCS OOC games over that time.

The thing is, KSU can't afford to have all of its OOC games be $35 a ticket anymore.  But you can't jack up the price unless you bring in a team to play that's decent.

KSU needs at least one premium dollar OOC game at least every other year.

Plus, you want to recruit better??  You better play somebody outside your conference regularly.  Nobody is going to get fired up with a 4 game OOC schedule that's Akron, Temple, FAU and Western Louisana.

You can say whatever you want about Mack Brown ... but geezus the Texas-Ohio State game is going to be a week long media blitz for them, as if they really need it.

pud teams

That's the first time I've heard the term "pud" used in years, well played.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

WTF?  Go back and check history again.

I seem to remember a Mack Brown who didn't want to play Hawaii.  The Ohio State series was negotiated before Ohio State won it's NC.     You're logic is flawed if you base it off a "couple" of games.

Okay.  Base it off the last 10 years, then.  :jerkoff:
