I love the smell of peat in the evening.  That smell, you know that earthy smell...  Smells like...whisky !

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

*A GREAT RUMBLING OF BASS AND MUCH SHAKING*
I wish you guys weren't so bitter. It really makes me sad to see such low FBIQ.

By the way, we're #1 in the Sagarin ratings!

I'm sure the majority of everyone here will be ecstatic to hear that their in-state brothers are doing so well in the sport of American football

They're just for real this year. Some teams just click out of nowhere. I was skeptical until now.

I didn't mean you specifically. I meant more like:

Seriously, amazing how lucky ku is getting this year.

By the way, nice game against Baylor yesterday (seriously). Hope you guys take one from moo.

Hey, I've gotta give it to ku. They looked great against a retarded A&M team that for some reason insisted that they would run the ball against that wall of wheat 90% of the game.  Glad the lightbulb came on near the end of the fourth for A&M to make things look interesting.

A&M is a running team. That's what they do. Their receivers suck. They're expected to runblock. They aren't going to be exceptional route runners.

ku did exactly what you have to do to beat A&M.

Now speaking of A&M . . . once again I ask why anyone thinks Fran is a good coach.   Freaking Texas A&M-centering an entire offense around a very mediocre QB, no attempt at all try and get a wrecking ball like Lane into space, no attempts to get the ball to Bennett in space and on and on and on.

"We evaluate coaches at the end of the year"  I believe that was a quote that was read on TV.  And with all the players at the press conference, comforting the man, it seems like they have a great deal of problems.  http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3058459

ku is definitely a top 25 team this year.  In that sense they are "for real."  However, the 8-0 record is in large part a result of playing the 101st "toughest" schedule in the country.  Looking down the sagarin rankings, the only other teams in the top 40 with schedule strength in triple digits are Cincinnati and Boise State.  The only real teams the Hawks have played are KSU, CU, and aTm -- and ku has proven they are slightly better than those three (by 6, 5, and 8 points respectively).

So, ku a good team?  Yes.  A national championship caliber team?  Not so much.

    Sniff Sniff. . . I smell Heisman.
It doesn't matter if his arm was going forward.  The ball ended up being a lateral.  Horrific call that will probably be at least a 10 point swing.

Best put, a top 25 team for sure - but NC contenders... NOPE! I talked with my wife and the best scenario for ku in our house would be to have the Big 12 Ch go to the BCS bowl that we're tied too, have MU go to the Cotton and have ku go play USC at the Holiday Bowl - perhaps with a healthy John David Booty AND USC's defense. The honeymoon will turn sour at that point.

BTW, the reason that aTm was running the ball so much - yessiree you guessed it another fortunate turn for the Mighty Gayhawks - they are 109th in the country in passing. Oh well, I will admit this - in their schedule this year, they are for real.  :bs:

Glad you had that talk with your wife.  And maybe the reason aTm was running the ball so much was that they were the 5th ranked rushing team in the nation.
